@ArtHains @TexasTechFB Here is what is wrong with you backtracking the next day. More than 10x as many people saw your tweet saying the judge was local. You could at least take down the old tweet so it’s no longer circulating. You won’t because you don’t have enough integrity. But you could.

Ok, modified message. The judge in the Brandon Sorsby affair was not local to Lubbock. But that doesn’t change the gist of what I said. Sorsby knowingly broke a huge, well-known rule about gambling on his own team. @TexasTechFB should not play him, nor should any other school.

@ArtHains @TexasTechFB The problem is you’ve already done the damage. You spread misinformation, got the likes and retweets, and now you’re correcting the score. You couldn’t do two seconds of googling before you said something. Log off and lose your password.

At least Pete Rose could hit a baseball - Texas Tech is doing all this for a QB who had 69 passing yards vs Matt Rhule Bryce Underwood threw for 105 yards against that same team

@SonsOfNutmeg Thing is, even without Sorsby they very likely wouldn’t beat Tech. That’s why they are pushing so hard. They are trying to give themselves the best competitive advantage against a school that is outpacing them

Just putting it out there - as a UConn fan I’d gladly play Texas Tech 🤣 so stupid. The kids the one who gambled and screwed up, not Texas Tech. Go beat them every week. That’s how you punish him. Bc he’s not going to be in the NFL after this mess.

@TNobiz That he actually does his job as AG by protecting a state-funded institution against antitrust violations?

@JFeuerbacher I actually doubt they would. Sorsby and Kessler would almost certainly sue, but Tech, much like they did with the NCAA, would probably appeal and then any legal battle would be up to Sorsby.

So is tech’s official stance that Sorsby is being supported by the university, but they weren’t involved in his litigation for eligibility, but will sue over any further consequences to him or the school? What if the Big 12 penalizes Sorsby, not tech? I’m sure they’ll sue right?

@ChadBrendel It’s crazy that he didn’t get a chance to bet AND placed over 1000 bets while he was at UC. Truly remarkable.

Try reading slow, Jon. There were no activities on the site that got flagged. It got him as he signed up, blocked his attempt and booted him from the site. He never had a chance to place a bet. Do you get it now?
Jon Kappes@Grendellburner

@superjmstone @T__Baloney @ChadBrendel Wow dude! How about anything that even attempted to corroborate the kids story, or better yet how about reviewing his activities on the site that got triggered? Same thing you’d do if one of your kids got reported for something and you wanted to make sure they were ok

It’s extremely rare if not totally unprecedented for virtually everyone in college sports to agree on anything, but excluding Texas Tech, it’s happening now with Sorsby. However, in fairness to the Texas Tech fans, I really wonder how many other fans bases would also fight tooth and nail to try and justify that an admitted gambling addict athlete, who bet on his team, should get a slap on the wrist and a pat on the butt after a two game suspension.

@MarkEnnis Especially when it comes to the Big 12, he’s right. Without Sorsby, the conference race is much more open than if he plays

@flash_1990 Cody Campbell said people oppose this because they don't want Texas Tech to win. Sorsby will be out there when the clock hits 0:00 in week 2. Come on.

@MarkEnnis They are saying that keeping him on the team and within the institutional oversight is for his sobriety. No one has said he will definitely take any snaps. In fact Joey McGuire said he thinks Sorsby even being back by week 3 is a stretch

@gossmata58 @_James_Gilliam So they caught him trying to create an account for sports betting and when they asked, “do you have any others? Or have you gambled otherwise?” he replied, “no I don’t and I haven’t. I super promise.” And they just said, “ok” and moved on?

read the actual reports and not just what Campbell puts out you’d know that cincy was alerted that he tried to create a prize picks account was denied they gave him counseling and sorsby never disclosed his gambling addiction UNTIL the ncaa alerted tech of their investigation.
James Gilliam@_James_Gilliam

@gossmata58 Cincinnati fans might want to sit this one out. This entire saga is because of your lack of oversight.

@zacharyjboss @Joe_Hugen SMU isn’t a public institution is the primary reason the Texas AG wouldn’t have stepped in.

@Joe_Hugen It perplexes me why SMU didn’t do this in the 80’s to avoid the Death Penalty? I know it was a different era, but the idea of a death penalty and a true blackball seem unfathomable.

Billionaires gonna billionaire. Why spend Texas Tech money when you can have the State of Texas pay for it. What the hell does the Texas Attorney General have to do with a private entity & its legal organizational rules. it’s like telling a company they have to keep doing business with a member that stole from them. That dog won’t hunt. Who’s your biggest donor @KenPaxtonTX?
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

The Texas Attorney General sent a formal letter to the Big 12 today alerting the conference that Texas Tech would take action against any league sanction.

@CFBKnights It doesn’t matter if you “buy” it or not. He was clinically diagnosed with a mental illness. Even if Tech didn’t buy it, are they supposed to just disregard a diagnosis? Then the headline would be that they turned their back on a mentally ill player.

What “well being” man? I’m sorry, but I don’t buy that this is a mental health issue. I don’t think this is the same as someone with the alcohol or substance abuse problem. This dude illegally bet on his teams at two different schools, he sorry he got caught 🤷‍♂️
Gamblin' Gauchos 🎙️@GamblinGauchos

In case anyone doubted the player’s well being has been at the center of this the entire time for Texas Tech. Meanwhile, the school is getting dragged through the mud despite ruling him ineligible, not being involved in the litigation, and not being aware of the gambling like Cincinnati was when he played for them. Be mad at the judge or the NCAA or whatever, but Texas Tech has done the right thing at every turn.
