Statement from Senator @lincolnhough: “This was one of the darkest weeks I’ve served during my time in the senate. If the votes that I cast this week that I believed were in the best interests of my constituents in Springfield, the State of Missouri, and the institution of the Missouri Senate put me at odds with the President Pro Tem of the Senate cost me my chairmanship of the Appropriations Committee then so be it. I wouldn’t change any of them. I’m looking forward spending my time and energy during my last session on the floor of the senate working every day to restore this institution to place of honor I inherited we from Senators Richard and Wasson.” It’s my understanding that Senator Rusty Black will take over the duties of chairman.

Lee’s Summit Republican Jon Patterson, now Majority Leader, was re-elected last November by a smaller margin in his district than the amendment he is now determined to overturn. The people voted Jon, it’s your turn to respect that.
