Just to frame it correctly, this is NOT increasing or being additive to the actual content, it is just making it more accessible and easy to get to. So, yes it is a bit creepy, but it is nothing additional to what is available today through other means. That is the inherent problem with any innovation, it is good for goo’s sake, but evil gets to benefit as well. Great panel topic for a conference at some point.

futurism.com/artificial-int… Thoughts? "Meta could make the facial recognition features available to smart glasses owners as early as this year. Internally, the software goes by the designation “Name Tag.” Per the NYT‘s sources, it would let anyone who owns Meta’s smart glasses to identify people in the real world, instantly pulling up their information through Meta’s AI assistant." @Meta #Meta #WearableAI #WearableTech

I, for one, have to question why an entire statewide network investment of $450 million needs to be "scrapped". Seems highly suspicious that hardware and network facilities need to be disposed of to build a new solution that works. Logic doesn't add up. I was told this was just a software issue and that introduced an interoperability problem. It'll be good to see why this failed, and why it can't be fixed without a #forklift. Thanks for taking on the effort @BrendonCarrFCC

In 2019, Governor Newsom promised California that he would fix the state’s failing 911 system. He even spent $450 million to build a new one. But when it came time to turn it on, it did not work. Newsom is now scrapping the plan, the $450M is apparently gone, & he’s going to spend millions more. Meanwhile, Californians remains stuck on the antiquated 911 system due to Governor Newsom’s $450 million 911 scandal. I have written Governor Newsom to get answers, given the FCC’s interest in facilitating transitions to next-gen 911 systems.

@ChadPergram Excuse me, isn’t leaking information discussed in a secure compartmentalized information facility treason? Isn’t that the whole purpose of a SCIF?

Schumer: I was in the SCIF on three different occasions as recently as, December, and I asked the administration, are you pursuing regime change? Are you intent on taking military action in Venezuela? Venezuelan territory? And they assured me that they were not pursuing those things. Clearly, they're not being straight with the American people.

🚨 If everything is urgent… nothing is. Alert fatigue is real, and it’s quietly eroding public trust in emergency alerts. In my latest blog, I break down why over-alerting backfires, what actually works, and why precision beats volume every time. 🔗 fletch.tv/2025/12/22/ale…

Background for this 🧵: in 2022, Amazon sought to buy iRobot, maker of the Roomba. The FTC and European antitrust authorities opposed the transaction and Amazon walked away in 2004. Recently, iRobot filed for bankruptcy. It's now owned by a Chinese firm. x.com/jasonfurman/st…

One problem with antitrust thinking and enforcement is how little updating there is based on experience and evidence. Much less than you see in macro policy--and to be clear there is not enough of it in macro policy either. Take the case of Roomba. A 🧵 .

In addition to fashion friendly, the eyewear needs to be functional and affordable in order to be consumable.

@djeremydemar That being said, the concept of a personal list and note taker is interesting. I do this already on my desktop with GPT treating it like an assistant. That has GREATLY improved the value of its ‘e-pinions’.

advisorperspectives.com/articles/2025/… Interesting concept for #WearableAI, the Molotov Test... "Let’s call it the Molotov’s Test — the likelihood of attracting unwanted attention as a result of using wearable technology, so-named after one of San Francisco’s best dive bars, where a wearer of the much-maligned Google Glass headset was harassed in 2014. Of course, that’s not to be condoned. But the Molotov’s Test serves as a useful starting framework: I don’t think any new device can go mainstream without passing it." #WearableTech #AI #ArtificialIntelligence

@djeremydemar So I get the functionality, but I am missing the point. Isn’t this JUST a microphone input? The article says the compute power is in the App on the phone. Seems to me that you can conceal a mic in a LOT of places, not just a ring. Did I miss something here?
