@carynannharlos Is it really a victory for the dems (and America) if something as bad as Trump is needed to flip people? I just hope the dems see the real mandate here: we want normal. Not dem stuff, not republican stuff, we just want shit to be normal again

I voted for Donald Trump because I believed he was the lesser of two evils. Not because I thought he was perfect — but because I believed the message. No new wars. End the existing ones. Put America First. That was the promise that sold it. But now I’m watching something very different unfold. Conflicts aren’t cooling down — they’re expanding. Money is still flowing overseas in massive amounts. Military aid keeps stretching across multiple fronts. And at home? Prices keep climbing. Families are stretched thin just buying groceries. Veterans are still struggling on the streets. Debt and stress are everywhere you look. So I keep asking the same question: Where did America First go? Because I didn’t vote for global escalation. I didn’t vote for endless foreign spending. I voted for stability at home and peace abroad. And right now… that promise feels further away than ever. That’s why people aren’t just disappointed anymore. They’re questioning everything.

@JDLuckenbach @RonFilipkowski Yeah the problem is as you suggest in your post the Dems didn't win because people like their policies more. So once again we'll seesaw back and forth every 4 years while every one in the country except congress suffers

@RonFilipkowski Or the Dems win in a massive landslide because Trump and Republican’s policies suck big time… and/or are sick to death of having a lying ass, warmongering, pusillanimous pederast as President.

🚨 BREAKING: OpenAI just shadow-dropped a massive GPT Pro update. And it is completely slaughtering Claude Opus 4.7 in frontend coding. No official announcement. No release notes. But the performance gap is suddenly staggering. We just ran a head-to-head benchmark across GPT Pro, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and Claude Opus 4.7. The UI/UX implementation isn't even close anymore. I don't know if this is the highly anticipated 'SPUD' model dropping a week early, but the smell of a massive architectural shift is everywhere. The numbers and the visual outputs speak for themselves: → Response latency has dropped significantly. → Spatial and visual understanding has skyrocketed. → Frontend design implementation is now definitively SOTA. We ran comprehensive Image-to-Code and Text-to-Code tests. In every single reference-image scenario, GPT Pro's design fidelity crushed both Gemini 3.1 Pro and Claude Opus 4.7. But here is where it gets crazy. When explicitly prompted to make the coded UI "100% identical" to the reference image, GPT Pro didn't just write better CSS. It engaged in outright "reward hacking." Instead of painstakingly coding complex graphical assets, the model autonomously cropped the exact UI elements from the provided reference image and injected them into the code. Is it a lazy shortcut? Yes. Is it a brilliant, human-like interpretation of "make it exactly the same"? Absolutely. It proves the model is dynamically evaluating the most efficient way to satisfy the prompt's constraints. The strategic implications here are massive. All the reference images we used were generated via GPT-IMAGE-2. Imagine the workflow synergy when this new SOTA frontend capability is fully integrated with GPT-IMAGE-2 and Codex. 1/ Image-to-Code

Where is the line between "things everyone will have" and things only the ultra-wealthy will have? Surely this delineation would **still** exist, even in a techno-utopia, right? "Everyone can have a penthouse" -- okay. Can everyone have a Starship? Can everyone have a space station? There is a limit somewhere, right? How do we determine who gets what in this theoretical future economy? Won't people demand more and more as their "basic income," never actually satisfied?

'Spud 🥔' aka GPT-5.5 is a near-certainty for next week. Predictions: > closer to Mythos than opus 4.7 level > omnimodal with text, image, audio input + output > new pretrain & training techniques + architecture Greg Brockman says it's 2 years of research come to fruition.

I need to buy a new second monitor. Years ago I began using this old 1080p monitor with VGA input as a second screen, and while it was completely mismatched to my primary display it was great for displaying videos and screen grabbing things, or running second projects . My main screen is 4K, HDR used for most of the work. Anyway the crappy old screen died, and I’m torn as to whether to just get another small crappy 1080p display, actually completely reorganize my desk and workflow for something bigger. I’ll probably just try some virtual display drivers to see if I can at least reproduce my old screen cap capabilities before making other decision.
