Gaviões da Fiel is not only a supporters group; it is also one of São Paulo’s most important samba schools. It began taking part in official carnival parades in the 1970s, and entered competitions as a samba school in 1989. It became champion in the top division of the São Paulo Carnival in 1995, 1999, 2002, and 2003.
