It's been a little while since we launched Evolution, and I believe there are a few points and topics that need addressing from my end. I felt that we put together a fun, seamless experience through revealing your Jikans. I think we crushed the art, I think we crushed the design, and I think we did a great job regarding front end attention to detail, from user flows, to world building and reveal animations. Let's not forget the video content we pushed out prior to the launch. Now to the questionable stuff: I think that charging .6 SOL (with various discounts centered around the level of our holders' Jikans) was risky given current market conditions and active wallets within our community. However, I do still think that this will be the correct move in the future, with additional incentives to reveal your Jikans, which we're currently working on. The current team, the team we've had for the last 12 months or so, has worked almost, if not entirely, for free to ensure that remaining resources would be put towards rewarding or entertaining our holders. We, as a team, would like to put even more time towards the project and web3. Hence why we were so firm on monetizing the reveal mechanisms (reveal price and brother mint). My thoughts: I am still proud of the work that we've done since we started this whole "art upgrade" arc. However, I will say that I am embarrassed that the floor has dropped as low as it has following reveal. I genuinely believed that the reveal experience, art and existing community would have been enough to maintain / hold our floor price and bring in outside volume, and I can also say that I was wrong. Following the reveal, I was left questioning what gave an NFT value aside from speculation or "utility". I think the three things I listed above, community, art, UX (tech) are a major part of it, but I do think that there's another huge piece of the puzzle that some projects just have naturally and it's attention. Not forced engagement, but genuine interest; projects that radiate entertainment for both holders and non-holders. This is the direction that we want to pivot towards, and we have a few ideas, but here's the goal: Create entertaining, sharable experiences for anybody on Solana while simultaneously rewarding our holders for supporting our endeavors. We want to create an associative thought between Jikan and quality experiences on the internet.
