@timkawakami Players who earn their living playing a sport that is proven to cause serious brain injuries always seemed unlikely to turn down money to play for a team who some conspiracy nuts had decided suffered injuries because of the buildings near to its practice field

#49ers GM John Lynch said the team hired an independent scientist to investigate the electrical substation. The scientist found what Lynch called a "big nothing burger." Lynch adds that no free agents or their reps even so much as asked about the substation during FA.

@LombardiHimself ... but also reflects the reality that projecting them to be 17 game starters is unrealistic given their recent injuries. I love both signings. But celebrating the fact these signings are cost effective because the guys weren't on the field much last year is a strange perspective

The same mechanisms which probably helped the 49ers sign Mike Evans to a manageable deal likely apply to Dre Greenlaw's contract. Since both Evans and Greenlaw played limited snaps in 2025, both are eligible for realistic but NLTBE incentives that protect the 49ers in case of more missed time

Good tool for 49ers with Mike Evans deal: Not Likely To Be Earned (NLTBE) incentives — any stat which wasn't met last season qualifies. Since Evans had only 368 receiving yards, most incentives would be NLTBE and therefore wouldn't count vs 2026 salary cap. Great way to make $14m APY expandable to $20m APY — protects team but simultaneously gives Evans upside

@mattbarrows @fluffyskg Even if Trent was healthy I still don’t think he would be at practice. CMC has no injury and he isn’t practicing today because it’s his Vet day. Sometimes you can’t trust Kyle with his words. Cause he said if the Seahawks game was Sunday Trent would played. I’m a little confused.
