Meet Colonel Firdosh P. Dubash, Commanding Officer of the 2nd Arunachal Scouts Battalion a unit whose men were allegedly assaulted by local police in Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh in November 2018. In early November 2018, two soldiers from the 2nd Arunachal Scouts Battalion were involved in a public altercation in Bomdila during the Buddha Mahotsava period. They were taken into custody by local police and reports later claimed they were badly beaten and humiliated while in police hands. Images of the injured soldiers reportedly intensified anger inside the Army. Colonel Firdosh P. Dubash, then commanding the battalion strongly intervened in support of his men. He reportedly confronted senior police officials including the local SP and made it clear that any harm to his soldiers would not be tolerated.
