This is how the leaders of professional armies operate and are remembered. Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is still remembered today, perhaps others sitting across the borders can still learn a few things from him.

Sharp Edge: I don’t like Raj era clubs and I will never become a member of one. So whatever happens to the Delhi Gym makes no difference to my life. And yes it may be unfair to charge only a nominal rent to a club that mostly caters to retired army officers & civil servants But if you are talking about unfairness why stop at veterans? Why not throw ministers out of their huge houses? Why not take away their motorcades? Ground their private planes? Today’s Lutyens elite comprises politicians who have run Lutyens Delhi for a decade and live in those huge Lutyens bungalows. Why pamper the new Lutyens elite and persecute soldiers who have fought for our country and bureaucrats who gave their lives for India ? Don’t swallow the propaganda & the lies. Don’t let political dadagiri extend to attacking veterans and retired civil servants while politicians live off honest tax payers theprint.in/opinion/sharp-…

Meet Colonel Firdosh P. Dubash, Commanding Officer of the 2nd Arunachal Scouts Battalion a unit whose men were allegedly assaulted by local police in Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh in November 2018. Don't dare to touch my boys again in Future. In early November 2018, two soldiers from the 2nd Arunachal Scouts Battalion were involved in a public altercation in Bomdila during the Buddha Mahotsava period. They were taken into custody by local police and reports later claimed they were badly beaten and humiliated while in police hands. Images of the injured soldiers reportedly intensified anger inside the Army. Colonel Firdosh P. Dubash, then commanding the battalion strongly intervened in support of his men. He reportedly confronted senior police officials including the local SP and made it clear that any harm to his soldiers would not be tolerated. His hard stance made the incident escalate from a local law-and-order issue into a major civil-military controversy. @adgpi @PMOIndia @ITBP_official @Hardisohi @jai_samota @san_x_m #IndianArmy

And look at the man receiving it: shirt half-undone, collar flung open like he’s stepped off a club floor onto the dais. A serving officer turning up to a regimental honour in that state would be on a punishment routine before the night was out, and his Adjutant would’ve made sure of it. When the sanctity of the Officers’ Mess can be conferred for a song and a dance, you have to ask: what exactly is left worth conferring?

Raghu Rai: The Man Who Photographed India’s Soul Raghu Rai did not merely capture India, he interpreted its contradictions. Invited to Magnum by Henri Cartier Bresson, he chose instead to spend years showing India to itself. From power corridors to Bhopal’s enduring wounds, his lens celebrated, questioned, and held the nation accountable. For Rai, India was limitless in possibility, yet forever entangled in its own chaos. #RaghuRai #IndiaThroughTheLens #VisualHistorian #IndianPhotography #Photojournalism #StoriesOfIndia #LensOnIndia #DocumentingIndia #PhotographyLegacy #IndianIcons #BhopalToDelhi #SoulOfIndia #ThroughRaghuRaisEyes #TimelessFrames #IndiaUnfiltered

#Manipur: Tension surfaced in Shangshak area of #Ukhrul after personnel allegedly belonging to the #AssamRifles were seen stopping vehicular movement, reportedly as part of a counter blockade. In a viral video circulating online, masked #security personnel can be seen halting vehicles on the road. When questioned by a passenger over the blockade, the personnel objected to being filmed and appeared to adjust their masks to conceal their identities.
