Este es el claro ejemplo de cómo no hay que hacer una aproximación. El aeropuerto de Paro, en Bután, es uno de los más complicados del mundo para aterrizar debido a que se encuentra en un valle con grandes laderas a ambos lados. Este incidente ocurrió el 12 de julio de 2021 con el PK-YGW, un #B737-300F de Asia Cargo Airlines procedente de Calcuta. Los pilotos recibieron la alerta de ángulo excesivo y de proximidad con el terreno, llevando a cabo una aproximación inestable. La aeronave permaneció en tierra durante 16 horas para ser inspeccionada debido al impacto con la pista. 📸 Matt Dearden

@flying_brummie I’m an approach controller but I I would say you fly the speed instructed by London. Otherwise speeds as per the speed limit points. I’ve just got to work so I will try and remember to ask a TMA controller for you. Not sure I’ve helped. Sorry.

ATC controllers, especially London controllers, I have a question! The 270kts through London Airspace, is this a hard and fast rule? I remember the trial period where it was introduced a while back and it seems to have stuck??

The absolute lack of knowledge/awareness from armchair experts in this industry is staggering. Safety will always come first in aviation. Last time I checked, planes and ice don’t mix. ❄️

@jumpjim For anyone wondering why the pilot didn't just land, there's six words that all commercial pilots never want to hear - 'At the subsequent board of enquiry', hence this go-around was an excellent decision. If in doubt, bin it off and reassess the options.

There are more than a few commenters to this video asking why the pilot didn’t “Trust his instruments” and land rather than executing the go-around they flew? Firstly landing is a visual manoeuvre. We use peripheral visual cues for descent rate, flare height etc… cont.
