🇹🇼🇮🇷 Taiwan’s chip empire just got a brutal wake up call TSMC the company that makes 90% of the world’s most advanced chips is 100% hooked on helium + LNG that sail straight through the Strait of Hormuz. Helium (critical for cooling wafers & lithography). About 60% to 70% comes from Qatar now offline. LNG (powers about 40% of Taiwan’s electricity). About 33% to 35% from Qatar same chokepoint. Taiwan has only 11 days of storage. Why this is a critical issue? One prolonged Hormuz mess = immediate price spikes, fab slowdowns, and global chip shortages. No quick alternatives.
