I'm back at work after 10 months on maternity leave today! 🙋‍♀️ Noones sung hello to me or asked for my nursery rhyme request.. feels like a whole different world.

Met with HR today to confirm when I'll be returning to work after maternity leave.. This has been the quickest 8 months of my life.

Today's my last full day in the office before starting my maternity leave on Tuesday as Monday is @focus_SWP Comms event. It's probably best as my arms aren't getting any longer but I seem to be sitting further and further away from my desk. 😂 #maternity #babyleave

@mazfinch @dontgetthis1 I'm really interested to hear that you gave it a go Maz. From the people I spoke to yesterday about it, they all said there was a definite sensory overload for them.

@dontgetthis1 To give some credit, it was lots lights, all noises to the extreme, movements, smells, gusts of air, instructions etc I managed only about 30 seconds, as it was too much on my already heightened senses but think it may give non-autistics a momentary glimpse of sensory overload

There’s an ‘autism reality experience’ bus here Half tempted to see what it’s like Not for the experience, as obviously I have that all day every day But to see what ‘the experts’ think it is 🤔 #FocusOnAutism #ActuallyAutistic

Adored hosting and singing at the #focusonautism conference. So many autistic voices being heard. So many perspectives being shared. So many wonderful performances. Meeting up with so many wonderful people. Such a warm, empowering and special day.

Great day @focus_SWP Autism Event. Fantastic speakers & great workshops. The Autism Reality Experience was such a powerful tool - what I have learnt about sensory processing from that will stay with me. Would be interesting to hear others thoughts on the simulation #focusonautism
