In the Workers Party there are five key principles that form the foundations of British socialism in theory and practice: 1. Britain is a class society that exploits the great majority of workers for the benefit of the minority of capitalists - we serve the working class. 2. Britain is an imperialist nation, that is, it is capitalism in the epoch of parasitic finance capitalism and this results in predatory wars to expand markets - we are anti-imperialist. 3. The democratic struggle in Britain for liberty, such as freedom of speech, assembly and ultimately a republic, can in this period unify politically the broadest range of society against the British state. We are republican. 4. The solution to these issues is socialism, when not just the state but also the towering heights of the economy, the means of production and the markets will be in the hands of those who can use them, i.e., the operatives of various kinds - we are socialist. 5. It is around the prior points that we unite, those subordinate issues on which we differ we overcome by prioritising those principles on which we are all agreed - we uphold unity. These principles should not and do not bar us from working with others. We endeavour to work with other forces in society on one, some, or all. As we believe it is in the struggle to change material conditions that consciousness changes.

Communists want to build a society where people are incentivised to work, at least in part, for the good of their country and community rather than for money’s sake. Yet we’re the ones labelled “unpatriotic”. Meanwhile, people call themselves patriots while insisting that communism is doomed to fail because the only incentive for someone to work (to become doctors, inventors, etc) is to make money rather than contribute to their country. 🤔 The kind of situation where a word loses all meaning.

They can take his statues down, but they can never change this undeniable truth: no one has changed the world, and continues to change the world, more than Vladimir Lenin.

Think imperialism doesn't affect you? Think again.

National sovereignty versus imperialism. This is the struggle of our times, as recognised by our Chinese comrades and principled Marxist Leninists throughout the world. Imperialism, represented today by US hegemony, denies national sovereignty, as it requires the occupation and plundering of every country to secure the super-profits needed to prop up a rotten economic system that is disconnected from the realities of production. Any Briton who considers himself a patriot, must necessarily be an enemy of the United States.

TOTAL VICTORY So, I’m the latest victim of their blocking spree after: 1) demanding they apologise for snitch jacketing @ChrisHelali due to their anguish at the monumental launch of Sovintern; 2) calling out their hypocrisy for voting Green after they castigated @WorkersPartyGB for standing down in Gorton and Denton. Cowardice is the refuge of the politically desperate. What a waste of space.

Cyclone would like to express its well wishes and congratulations to British workers up and down the country for a very happy International Workers’ Day 2026. Today is a day for workers across the world to celebrate and reflect on hundreds of years of struggle and revolution, fighting for a society that serves everyone, and not just the ruling capitalist class. It was in 1889 that the Second International designated May 1st as a commemorative day for the Haymarket affair in the United States, in which strikes for the demand for an 8 hour workday ended in violence and state repression. It was revolutionary Soviet Russia that declared May 1st to be a public holiday, which led to the Western capitalist nations to follow through as concessions to their working masses. More than 100 years on from the first official May Day celebrations, the fight of the working class for their conditions and interests is still not complete. The United Kingdom remains occupied by Euro-Atlanticist and Zionist interests and four decades of Thatcherite neoliberalism have bled the country’s manufacturing industries dry, outsourcing labour to low-income economies, decimating high quality British jobs in the process and destroying the labour movement. Who is left to speak for the British working class now? The Labour Party, once presenting itself as the party of the British workers, of the miners, of the steel workers, born out of the trade-unions , has been completely taken over by foreign and establishment interests. The trade-unions themselves have gone along with this. The right, led by Nigel Farage and Reform UK, fills our media with false promises of stemming migrations, but is physically unable to commit to addressing the actual problems of the British people, who are suffering by continued British involvement in imperialist forever wars abroad. Cyclone reiterates the call for the re-construction of the British labour movement, and the coming together of all popular patriotic forces who seek to remove from power the rotten establishment that rules over us. It is high time British workers had their own organizations to speak for them once again. Long live the international day of the working class!

A press conference with @georgegalloway "The International Union (SOVINTERN) & International Forum is creating a new global network format for communication and solidarity”. The goal of SOVINTERN is to create a convenient environment for interaction between socialists around the world. The press conference was attended by party leader George Galloway, the executive secretary of the Anti-Imperialist People's International, Luis Perez Leira, and the leader of the "Union of Democratic Socialists" party, Crispin Kabaselle Tshimanga, from Congo.
