@PNW_Hiker87 @TBM_JY I wouldn’t be opposed to negotiating exit fees a bit to help out GCU but MW cannot afford to let MW5 hold getting GCU in early over their heads. The most important thing for MW is to not risk losing UNLV by accepting radically reduced exit fees.

2014, Boise State made & won the Fiesta Bowl, the MW attempted to pay BSU less than what it was owed to spread around the conference
2024, Boise State got $8 million for making the CFP, received under $700k, less than 9% of the payout. The rest the MW spread out around the conf.

Also what damages is the pac claiming against MW? I’m aware the pac wants relief against “poaching fees” but not aware of damages.

One of the last times AD Barnes spoke about the PAC in this way (last fall), the rebuild happened with 4 Mountain West teams announcing their move to the PAC-12.

Poaching fees are the one that is unusual, but also the one that the PAC-12 probably has the better chance at winning in court. But you never know until for sure until you go to court.

Secondly losing UNLV would essentially kill the MW so the departing members + pac will pay more than 33% to 50% more like 80% to 100% of at least the exit fees.

@TheMontyShow The mediation really comes down to this. MWC takes 33% to 50% payout, gives up UNLV and goes on OR MWC elects to litigate, Pac takes Texas State and circles around for additional members in 27 / 28. There really isn't much more to it. WSU, ORST, BSU and SDSU won't merge.
