@ElmarMoelzer Von der Konfiguration ist aber Helion schon FRC, ist natürlich richtig, dass diese dann stark komprimiert werden sollen, was wieder eher zu zap passt. Ist kein eindeutiger Fall, da passt diese vereinfachende Tabelle nicht

@formbar Helion und Zap sind eher MIF, meiner Meinung nach. Helion hat mehr mit Zap gemein als mit Princeton Fusion (Satellite) Systems und Pulsar (die eigentlich die Technologie von PFS/PSS verwenden).

@Stefan_Urbat nt-tao ist etwas schwierig, die sagen ja, sie verwenden ihre eigene, geheime Plasmaheizung. Die Teilchendichten sollen allerdings 3 Größenordnungen über denen bei MCF liegen, daher eher bei "weitere"

PhD-student wanted: the project is about plasma-technological processes that use electrical energy from renewables to provide base chemicals for the chemical synthesis industry or to produce synthetic fuels. Mostly numerical, with a few experiments. Awaiting your applications!

If stellarators are your thing, you might be interested to hear that ~60 stellarators have been operated or are currently in operation around the world. You might also like this plot, showing their magnetic field strength and major radius (symbol size indicative of minor radius)

@formbar Very informative plot, as always, @formbar! Thanks to HTS, stellarator startups aim at 3-4x higher magnetic fields B, out of scale in this plot 😉 At @renfusion, we also aim at much lower aspect ratio A (much fatter symbols). High B and low A will boost confinement, per ISS04

@gmeni Was also thinking about other ways to put all those Stellarators into one plot, e.g. taking into account heating power (varies during operation time), l or m values (not too informative), triple product (not that easy to get all the data and in principle already existing)

When the conference organizer publishes the schedule 3 weeks before the conference, you see that your presentation is scheduled for Friday afternoon and of course you have already booked the return trip, leaving the conference site on Friday at lunch time.
