Common, this is silly. If it’s true it just means the team doesn’t have a clue how to extract lap time or the driver can’t drive it properly. There’s always been cases where going slower at some points can make you faster overall.

@bardsleyta @wilmotscore He was only 11 points behind at the season’s end. 2011-2013 Vettel would have been easily good enough to win in 2009 imo.

@wilmotscore 09 definitely not. The red bull wasn't as fast as the Brawn & were too far behind. Not to mention Vettel had some mechanical issues as well. 17 definitely not either. Merc pulled away in the 2nd & reliability was the biggest thing, not Seb's driving.

How many titles does Alonso win in Vettel's cars? 07/08❌️ 09 would not make as many errors✔️ 10-13 all✔️ 14-16 no chance, Merc just too good❌️ 17/18 both cars was massively underdriven by Vettel✔️ 19 slight chance he wins it but I would say no❌️ 20-22 ❌️ 7-time champion

Vettel vs Alonso is not a serious debate man, we need to stop talking about this. Anyone who isnt half retarded knows Alonso is in a different universe.

@wilmotscore 2017 was a great season by Vettel imo. And 2018 the car probably wasn’t quite there, although I’d believe Alonso would maybe take it to the last race. Agree with 09-13 though,

@wilmotscore Out of curiosity, do you actually believe Alonso could put the kind of gaps Vettel did on Webber? Or that he could get 13 wins in a season? Or that he would have a pole lap like Singapore?

@FM1_3316 @_Dan_Castell It’s the same worldwide. Shanghai has been an instant sellout post COVID. Previously you could rock up on race day and pick whichever area you wanted.

When watching the pre-Liberty Media era F1 races it really puts into perspective just *how much* has changed in the decade they’ve ran things Yes, there are some issues with the direction they’re taking the sport but you can’t say they haven’t helped increase attendance numbers

In Kimi Antonelli's lifetime, he's never seen Italy advance out of the group stage in the World Cup but he has seen one Italian driver win a Formula 1 race. Himself.

@FormulaUR_ A couple of years ago I tried testing analysis based only on lap time data and found it to be extremely difficult. Vibes seem to count for a lot, and Merc were in a constant state of downplaying. (To be fair, almost everyone concluded Mercedes were favourites in the end.)

If you look through my posts from pre-season testing - every single thing I said and predicted has turned out to be true so far. The mainstream media such as TheRace and Sky Sports were putting Red Bull and McLaren as contenders. It makes me wonder - what on earth are they looking at whilst being inside the damn paddock??? With far more limited access myself and many other accounts on here were able to infer a lot more about the cars, the pecking order and the driving styles than the actual media running the sport. We’re in a time where those outlets are only useful for insider information rather than actual analysis.

People think the Sprint was great because it had a Safety Car and Pit-Stops. Maybe the FIA should look into making races longer so both of those things are more likely. 🤔

Honda are eagerly aiming to convince Aston Martin to revive Honda’s ‘Earth Car’ livery. Honda believe that Aston Martin doing so few laps and utilising only a limited amount of spare parts can only be seen as a positive for the environment.

What is your bold prediction for the first race of the 2026 F1 season? I'll start: We will see 4 red flags in the race, beating the previous F1 record of 3 from the 2023 Australian GP.

In qualifying the cars are on average 4s slower than they were last year. But compared to 2022 it’s more like 0.7s slower. Hopefully the catch-up rate will be comparable!

After one flying lap, Max Verstappen already has as many Q1 eliminations in this era of regulations (1) as he did over the entire ground-effect era (1).
