Arthur, driven by a surge of adrenaline, dropped his stance slightly, as the dual spike blades extending from his forearms scraped against the ground as he accelerated forward—The sharp metallic screech echoed.
That sound alone made fear creep into Sojin’s face, as his eyes snapped open—

But as he opened them he realized that Arthur was already in front of him, with an explosive force, he drove his left arm first upward in a motion akin to an uppercut, as the metal blade embedded along his forearm tore through Sojin’s lower jaw—
—and burst out through the top of his head.
Sojin’s eyes widened in shock, his arms still extended as he struggled to muster enough strength to drive the nail-tipped shadow chains into Arthur’s back.
But Arthur didn’t stop there, as his helmet shifted, opening and retracting downward in a smooth, segmented motion like a magically controlled nano-construct, to reveal his face, only these were being done by magic and not technology .
Then his right arm came forward in a piercing motion.
Again.
And again.
Each strike pierced through Sojin’s chest until his body finally went limp—
—and dissolved, and that was how the first death of the final came about.
“War God Mage draws first blood!” an announcement thundered across the entire silent arena.
