@AronKlassen @BibleInContext1 correct, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” - James 5:16 “The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” - Proverbs 15:29. it makes sense God would hear Mary and the saints prayers

@BibleInContext1 According to some Catholics I have debated this with, it's more about her prayers being more powerful than yours. God is more likely to listen to her than you. Still an odd take, but that seems to be the reason they appeal to "saints" for intercessory prayer.

Apparently, the Catholic Jesus is too busy and difficult to reach so you are encouraged to go through the Catholic Mary instead! Catholics have another Jesus!

@realmikolson thats not worship, thats the equivalent of an Amrican museum holding George Washington’s teeth for display (which they are), its about remmembering people who are historically meaningful to the Christian faith, martyrs, important theologians

@farmingandJesus the catbolic church always offers free services if you need them, it just wont be a big service in your parish of choice. also sorry but 50€ is frankly not expensive at all for a viral ceremony, silly

@EndWokeness @raymondgstanley Fun fact, Britain did this to themselves with the Countryside Right of Way Act of 2000. Basically says people can wander around on open land freely unless they're messing with structure or livestock.

@0Calamity @RupertLowe10 its treason to their own people since they dont get a vote on it at all, and its a ploy to disenfranchise the people pf their own voting power. this has been admitted by left wing governments all across Europe at this point

@Benedicta_Bee basically, we agree on everything he says regarding faith, morals and theology. you can happily disagree on minor matters, personal and political. finally, you need to remember the media isnt on the side of the pope. ever

How can a Catholic Catholic if they disagree with literally everything the Pope says? I mean this sincerely. How do we reconcile this? I would not belong to a Protestant church promoting or professing these radical beliefs? What do we as Catholics do? Sincere question.

@soychotic we believe he’s ‘supreme pontif of the church’ so he’s got final word on faith morals and theology, that being said, policy is not in this at all. you can disagree on this no problem. that being said ‘not my pope?’ ridiculous, yes go somewhere else

Some of your guys should really be looking into Orthodox Christianity after converting to Catholicism for the aesthetics. If you don’t believe the pope is the ultimate authority, you’re not catholic. Papal supremacy is literally the main differentiator for Catholicism.

Project Hail Mary writer Andy Weir on social commentary in books: "I dislike social commentary. Like… I really hate it. When I’m reading a book, I just want to be entertained, not preached at by the author. Plus, it ruins the wonder of the story if I know the author has a political or social axe to grind. I no longer speculate about all possible outcomes of the story because I know for a fact that the universe of that book will conspire to ensure that the author’s political agenda is validated. I hate that." "I put no politics or social commentary into my stories at all. Anyone who thinks they see something like that is reading it in on their own. I have no point to make, and I’m not trying to affect the reader’s opinion on anything. My sole job is to entertain, and I stick to that." "To that end, I also don’t talk about my personal political opinions publicly. I don’t want readers to even know, honestly. I don’t want that in the back of their minds as they read my stuff." Is this why he has the #1 sci-fi movie in decades?
