Yes, not only is Philippe’s located in a much better area, but their staff is also top-notch, friendly and very efficient. Cole’s was interesting for its historic location in the PE building, but Philippe’s is just a nicer restaurant. Any store catering to normal people can’t survive adjacent to Skid Row.

So apparently, the KC-135 aerial tanker that crashed was caused by another KC-135. They are either refueling each other and one dick-swatted the other, or they were formation refueling fighters and a fighter got caught up in the jet steam. OR Iraqi resistance fighters fired a MANPADS and they got spooked.

One of the biggest urban planning mistake in modern China was to demolish the Beijing city wall to make way for a ring road and subway. Parts of the wall were already dismantled between 1911 and 1949. But most of it was removed in the 1960s to make way for the subway line then the ring road. If kept, or rebuilt, it would've been such a majestic sight, even more grand than the Xi'An city wall.

You're right, it was much more common in past decades. Some hospitals would bury the consent form among other paperwork and the parents might not even realize what they agreed to. I've heard anecdotes from the 1960s and 70s where the nurses didn't even obtain consent, they just did it. I highly recommend the documentary American Circumcision, available for free on Pluto. It presents both sides, but really after watching it shows how wrong it is to cut newborn boys. If a grown man wants to do it, fine. His body, his choice. An adult can tell the doctor his preferences (high/low cut, tight/loose), and receive proper pain medication for recovery.
