A NSW Senator living in QLD and charging taxpayers to commute to Sydney. Charges taxpayers $500 a night hotel and for limo to his Brisbane home, another $7k. When you call him out on, which is in the rules, he blocks you. Another One Nation Grifter

ZELENSKYY: We attack military targets in Russia, or their energy, which they sell to fund war. Russians deliberately target civilian objects: museums, schools, apartments. They destroyed this Chornobyl museum that we built for 40th anniversary just one month ago. Crazy assholes.

BREAKING: Israel just dropped bombs on the Qaraoun Dam in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley — a key water reservoir serving civilian populations across surrounding villages. This is not a battlefield target. It is a critical water infrastructure. This is an act of genocide.

Hanson is too busy standing up for mining and fossil fuel companies to stand up for the battlers that she tells us she really does stand up for. She only works for the oligarch
ShiannonCorcoran💉x4 @shiannonc.bsky.social@ShiannonC

Pauline Hanson standing up at the Australian Energy Producers Conference to unveil her new oil and gas policy says it all really. She’s in a room with like-minded folk who all want the same thing as Hanson’s benefactor, Rinehart. Profits and a government that will not stand in the way of that profit with pesky policies and legislation that will penalise them in any way. Pauline says she’s a special politician because she’s listening to energy companies and what they want. 🙄 I’m not sure Pauline’s auditory skills equate to the finer points of listening to her constituents, communities and ordinary folk who don’t benefit from the rising costs of energy and resources… but I’m pretty sure she’s across the active social media campaigns that continue to spread misinformation and disinformation with regard to an anti-renewable agenda. Pauline sounded legitimate, organised and professional when she foghorned her new policy to her avid listeners. I suppose reading from a speech someone specifically prepared for her earlier would do that. .. but if you aren’t listening carefully enough you will miss the fine print. Pauline says that she wants to replace the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax with a ‘commonwealth royalty on wellhead value’. Sounds feasible… Until you realise that Pauline Hanson is talking about FUTURE offshore oil and gas production. ‘Designed only for prospective offshore projects - with existing PRRT arrangements grandfathered’ 🙄🤔 So in effect, all existing arrangements will ultimately be protected - and would be able to carry on their operations without any restrictions or interference from any potential “government” that Hanson might be a part of. Protectionism of existing companies - without any commitment to or prospect of new fossil fuel projects that might at some point in the future offer some recompense to those Australians that Pauline claims to be standing up for. This is a two-fold “Pauline Policy” because it is a given that the fossil fuel industry are already aware of their use-by date and the push towards renewables. They want to shore up their existing arrangements. They are not concerned about any future prospects - which is very telling. Sounds like Pauline Hanson is too busy standing up for mining and fossil fuel companies to stand up for the battlers that she tells us she really does stand up for. .. and the numpties fall for it. Every time.

Australia now has the world’s strongest economy and some of its weakest economic reporting. Coverage of the latest Federal Budget exposed just how far standards in Australia’s media have declined. The Budget data showed Australia remains one of the strongest-performing advanced economies on Earth. It is currently the only country with unemployment and inflation both below 4.7%, median adult wealth above US$250,000, triple-A credit ratings from all major agencies, moderate interest rates, and government debt below 25% of GDP. On top of that, the Budget introduced reforms aimed at tackling long-standing structural inequities changes that many economists argue were overdue. In most countries, results like these would dominate headlines and strengthen public confidence. Instead, much of Australia’s media responded with outrage, fear campaigns and ideological attacks. Headlines warned of “budget debacles”, “dire consequences”, “war on wealth”, and “further pain”, while largely ignoring Australia’s globally leading economic performance. Much of the commentary relied on the same recycled narratives that have dominated economic reporting for years narratives that often collapse under scrutiny. Claim: Living standards are falling. Reality: Living standards dipped globally after COVID, including in Australia, but key indicators have rebounded strongly since 2023. Australians are travelling overseas in record numbers, spending more on dining, retail and discretionary goods, and consumer activity has surged. Claim: Wages are going backwards. Reality: Real wages were hit during the inflation spike that followed the pandemic, but wage growth has now outpaced inflation. Since late 2023, wages, pensions and welfare payments have all risen faster than consumer prices. Claim: Australia is a high-tax country. Reality: Australia remains one of the lower-taxed advanced economies. The GST is just 10%, far below consumption taxes across much of Europe, while Australia’s total tax-to-GDP ratio sits near the bottom of the OECD. Claim: Labor keeps increasing taxes. Reality: IMF data places Australia among the lowest-taxing developed economies in both 2025 and 2026. Claim: Labor is anti-business. Reality: Business profits outside mining have reached record highs, while employment and expansion across many sectors continue to grow. Claim: Labor spends recklessly. Reality: Spending as a share of GDP under Anthony Albanese remains below levels seen under several previous governments, including the Morrison Government. Claim: Business investment is collapsing. Reality: Investment stagnated during the Coalition years but has resumed growth under the current government. The bigger issue is what this says about Australia’s media culture. Economic reporting increasingly resembles political campaigning rather than factual analysis. Too often, selective statistics, misleading framing and emotionally loaded commentary replace balanced reporting. When positive economic outcomes are ignored while fear and outrage dominate coverage, it damages public trust, distorts national debate and weakens social cohesion. Australia’s economy is not perfect. Productivity, housing affordability and inequality remain serious challenges. But pretending the country is in economic collapse despite internationally strong results does not inform the public. It misleads them.

VLC is amazing
Nav Toor@heynavtoor

Do not install VLC. Once you install it, you can never go back. You will never pay 99 cents for a codec again. You will never buy QuickTime Pro again. You will never renew RealPlayer Plus again. You will never pay for Blu-ray decoder software again. You will never see the words "this file format is not supported" again. You will become the family tech support person. Forever. Your dad will call you at 11 PM because he downloaded a .mkv from somewhere and Windows refuses to open it. Your answer will always be the same. "Install VLC." And then the orange traffic cone will eat his problem in 4 seconds and he will call you a genius. You did not do that. A French student named Jean-Baptiste Kempf did, in 1996, as a school project at École Centrale Paris. His roommate brought a traffic cone home from the street that year. They made it the logo. 6 billion downloads later, the cone is still undefeated. Repo: github.com/videolan/vlc. 18,463 stars. GPL-2.0. Pushed today. Here is the wildest part: The warning is real. Just not for you. Apple sold QuickTime Pro for $29.99. VLC killed it. Apple shut it down in 2016. Microsoft sold Windows Media Center for $9.99. VLC killed it. Microsoft shut it down with Windows 10. RealNetworks charged $39.99 a year for RealPlayer Plus. VLC killed it. Sony built Blu-ray to need a $79.99 licensed decoder. VLC ships with libdvdcss and a French court ruling that protects it. The codec mafia spent 30 years building a tollbooth on every video file on Earth. A guy whose GitHub location is literally "Coneland" walked through every tollbooth with a cone on his head and never paid a cent. He was offered millions of dollars to sell it. He said no. So yes. Do not install VLC. The codec industry has not recovered from the last 6 billion people who did. 100% Opensource. 100% Free. 100% Yours. The biggest media companies on Earth spent three decades trying to charge you to play your own files. One French student and a cone he found on the street made all of it pointless.
