Temporary greens are never popular with golfers, but they play an important role in winter management at many courses. 👉bit.ly/4rRLRGa

Dealing with fallen leaves is a focus for many courses right now. While golfers are worried about losing balls, superintendents are looking to avoid agronomic issues 👇

Change starts with a conversation. At @LlanerchCC , superintendent @BrendanJByrne01 approached his membership about the challenges facing our industry and the club stepped up to be a part of the solution.

Fairway topdress/aeration went great until we started working sand in. Discovered a ton of contamination, rocks/stones ranging in size from dimes to a couple of softball size boulders. Diligent cleanup will continue over the next few days BEFORE we can attempt a cut on fairways.

If you see someone from the maintenance staff hand watering the green you're playing to, try to be patient and understand that they're working hard to help the greens get through tough summer weather 👇

A quick transition from a cool and rainy spring to hot summer weather means many courses in the Northeast have weaker turf than they’d like. Exercising caution now will help courses stay in good shape through the months ahead 👇

@Zwignall523 The stimp meter was created at The Country Club in Brookline by Edward Stimpson. Original is hanging in the clubhouse.

It’s fun watching the best golfers in the world compete on courses in peak condition, but it’s important to recognize that championship conditions are not practical to maintain for daily play 👇

@LouStagner It’s so disrespectful to everyone playing behind you to not rake the bunkers properly (or not repair pitch marks) Since Covid this has become a huge problem even at the nicest of clubs.
