At FPAC, our community is spread out across the country. But we definitely still manage to get up close. In 2024, FPAC took a big leap in getting to know each other, and bringing our community closer together. With several member-led in-person meet-ups all across the country. Members got to share their experiences, and catch up with like-minded planners. From Toronto and London in the east to Edmonton and Vancouver in the west, the FPAC community got together, face-to-face. Stay tuned, there are always more meet-ups in the works. (Or think about planning a meet-up yourself!) Our Canadian pride even broke through south of the border last year. FPAC represented big time at the @FutureProof_HQ conference last year, in sunny Huntington Beach, CA. We made sure the Canadian Tiki Lounge was the place to be, and you could tell our members had a lot of fun. (Yes, financial planners know how to have fun!) FPACers are used to getting together digitally. FinFires. The Forum. Our sweet Twitter threads. But this coast-to-coast community? It’s real. Join us and see for yourself.

For anyone who isn't an FPAC Member - you missed an incredible webinar last week! If you watched it live - there will be CE Credits on their way! @AravindSitham covered the webinar in detail (check the linked thread) but to give you a taste of what @jasonpereira covered: ✅ A recap of integration ✅ A recap of where the new capital gains inclusion rates broke integration ✅ IPP's and where they can fit for incorporated business owners ✅ RCA's and where they fit (a niche tool that's more broadly applicable than you think!) ✅ A brief discussion of term life insurance and the benefits of holding inside a corporation If you missed it but still need those CE Credits for year end - don't forget we have over 30 CE Credits on demand for you! 🤯🌟 If you are a member head over to our notion page to check them out! If you aren't a member...what are you waiting for?!

@jasonpereira dropping the knowledge on Corporate Financial Planning pt 3 for the @fpacanada webinar. As always - a ton to take away. First part: a recap of integration A reminder - that integration meant that in theory if you earned income in the corp and paid it out as a salary OR paid it out as a dividend...you would be indifferent to the net tax result. (When factoring in the corp tax and personal tax) But now....with the new potential cap gains rules....

Proud of our colleagues over at @AdvancedPlanner who this week spoke up for something that’s at the heart of what FPAC is all about. Fiduciary responsibility. FPAC members, when they join, take The Fiduciary Pledge. Now IAFP is taking a step in the same direction. No wonder FPAC and IAFP make such a good team — including in co-presenting the NFPAs 🏆 Read the full press release here → newswire.ca/news-releases/…

We’ll be talking to @MeaganBalaneski, winner of the 2025 Financial Planning Awards, as well as to judges an organizers. They’ll be pulling back the curtain on what made the top plans stand out in this year’s competition. Best practices. Real examples. Insights into what judges want to see … … and what they DON’T want to see.

Life is hard. Life is also too short to go it alone. So find your team, find your tribe, find your family. (Link to substack and my thoughts below)
