Ace Bailey committed to Rutgers on January 15, 2023. It was a safe assumption Dylan Harper was coming to Rutgers, prior to that. Steve Pikiell had over 400 days to the opening of transfer portal in March of 2024 to build his war chest to construct a roster to support Ace and Dylan. If the NIL wasn’t there, he had over 400 days to sua sponte find NIL money. Steve Pikiell’s inability to find a way to construct a roster around Dylan and Ace robbed the fan base of a once and a lifetime opportunity to see TWO lottery picks light up the RAC. Something that 1 NCAA tournament win in 9 years doesn’t excuse. Instead, we saw one Lottery Pick getting double and triple teamed, while the rest of the roster threw up brick after brick after brick, with a building full of Michigan fans. Steve Pikiell failed miserably this year, there is no other way to state this. He owes the fan base an apology. But instead we just get coach speak and the lack of taking any accountability for his unmitigated disaster of building a roster. The fans deserved better.

However, this EADA database is worthwhile to report since it is standardized and includes all private schools as well.

I'm somewhat surprised Rutgers went after another NEC POY after the Jordan Derkack move didn't work out as expected. Although, Smith Jr is a better offensive player than Derkack was when they got him, I'm not sure defensively how he is going to fare.

I’ll give it a week or so before I go scorched Earth (team should be close to filled by EOM), but this has been a very frustrating portal window thus far.

@TalkinYanks Can someone explain why you wouldn’t walk the batter here to load the bases. Would have been a force play play at home and a better shot at getting an out at home. The rays strategy of bunting was obvious.
