my theory: 1. Kenyans rarely consume locally built items. Check your phone and see how many Kenyan apps you have and have opened this week. Countries with strong startups start their markets at home. 2. Kenyans don't invest in startups. And its not because we don't have money, we do, look at our mmfs, look at our churches, look at Special funds. When a Kenyan startup is looking to raise they have to go abroad making it 100x harder than the person who raises at home. Nigerians openly invest in each other. 3. Running startups is hard. In Kenya, the leading cause of SME failure is employee sabotage. You open a supermarket, your employees steal stock etc. Building something from the ground up is hard enough, now imagine with your employees working against you. Now hire a Nigerian or Burundian and see the difference

Why is it that Nigerian startups do well than Kenya startups? Being that we have electricity 24/7 We have major resources they don't Why?
