@onjezani Its really frustrating when one is coming from KCH to City Centre or institute.
But anyway, thus is Malawi where nobody cares and authorities are not hold accountable
Lilongwe city, a citizen has a concern:
Dear Mr. Kenani, Mine is a concern for Us in Lilongwe. Your page has a wider foĺlowing and is commended for its level of engagement i hope you can help spreading this concern.
Following the fatal accident that occurred at the intersection along Dr. Saulos Chilima Highway, i would first like to express our sincere sympathies to the bereaved families. I do not in any way underestimate the grief and loss they are going through, and i fully appreciate the seriousness of the incident.
The decision by authorities to close the affected intersection was therefore understandable and necessary from a safety perspective.
However, the continued closure of this intersection, now extending into the fourth month, has created significant traffic challenges, particularly for motorists traveling from the Kamuzu Central Hospital side towards the city centre. Vehicles are now forced to detour all the way to Parliament Roundabout, which has resulted in heavy congestion along the Area 49/18 to City Centre route.
During peak hours, the situation becomes even more severe, with traffic frequently backing up as far as Life Changers Junction in Area 49. This level of congestion is causing delays for those going to work and those on school runs komanso anthu akumakhala frustrated and akuyamba kumayenda mmbali zomwe sizili zololedwa causing further risk of accidents
While the initial closure may have been justified, maintaining it indefinitely undermines the very purpose for which the road infrastructure was upgraded which was to improve traffic flow and accessibility. It was initially assumed that this was a temporary measure, but the prolonged closure suggests otherwise.
Before the road upgrade, this intersection was managed using traffic control lights, which helped regulate vehicle movement effectively. It would be worthwhile for authorities to consider reinstating traffic lights or implementing another controlled system rather than keeping the intersection permanently closed.
I respectfully urge the relevant authorities to review this situation and explore practical solutions that balance both safety and traffic efficiency.
@Madala_snnogah Ku Malawi kuno vuto anthu we don't read to enrich the brain. No wonder anzathu wa outsmart us in everything from businesses to the way they run government affairs, allocate resources where is due, etc.
Look at our education system
I know many people are shocked by the corruption case involving Amaryllis. I am not. Malawi is corrupt. Its leaders and most of the cabinet have been in court for corruption or still have court cases. When the corrupt politicians are convicted, they are pardoned. How can a country led by the corrupt fight corruption? As you are busy talking about Amaryllis, someone is stealing billions somewhere through a dubious contract. Someday we will hear about it and we will be outraged. Until, we change the laws and systems of governance, this is our reality.
However, what I am shocked with is that a man raped an 8 year old boy. Chakwera pardoned him. Then he went out and raped the same boy again who is now 13. He has been given ONLY 8 years. Yes, that actually happened. Another day in an African banana republic!
@onjezani There was a time a lot of Malawians wished MBC channel removed from there decoders maybe this time Brian will help to bring back the trust MBC deserves to have
Dear Brian Banda,
Congratulations on being appointed Director-General of the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation.
Please, do not change. Be who you have always been. Let your light shine forth. Do not be blinded by power. It's always there for a few minutes, and then it is gone.
You and I have mutual friends who lost their way when given a similar chance. It did not end well. It never ends well.
Wishing you all the best. I have no doubt that you'll do a great job.
Yours faithfully,
Onjezani Kenani.
@onjezani I have always wished if MBC can be carrying out duties the way private stations do.
It's my dream one day to see MBC doing investigative journalism the way @PlatformMalawi for does.
I hate it when @MBC turns into a machine of blinding government lies.
@big_yemm I used these buttons so many times during my sec school days.
Up to now, it has stuck in my mind that tan 46° =1, sin 30° ½,etc.
So yea it's it is so helpful
That's not even the crazy part, they were looking for people with Diplomas and degrees in business related fields. 😂🙌🏾 And the vetting process? Hectic, ati kupolice tikapange ma finger print nde tipiteso kuchipatala akatipatse general medical report, all that to offer 138k😭
I just remembered that I was offered "Mk138,000.00" as a salary last month. Akuti "you'll get overtime and it accumulates", the overtime per hour was Mk663.46. i would have said yes for the sake of being affiliated with a reputable company, but I'd rather be selling rice man🙌🏾
Allow me to ask @MACRAMALAWI: were interviews conducted before this DG position was filled? If not, the public deserves an explanation. By what authority did the board bypass a transparent recruitment process to install a DG? Public institutions are bound by law, not convenience.
@VinceChinyama@JShulu I agree, during my secondary school days I remember my history teacher could always start with current affairs with every class.
Further, he could force us to know all cabinet ministers. So this spirit helped us to know authorities in key positions
A month has passed since the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled in favour of the liquidated Finance Bank. To this day, seven judges have failed to come up with a detailed judgement to substantiate their decision.
One of the individuals named in Parliament as a loan defaulter, Rodrick Chattaika, is demanding K800 million from the Malawi Agricultural and Industrial Investment Corporation (Maiic) for alleged defamation.
