@GermanSimply_ If you actually need a language certificate not just German, say B1 B2 +, doulingo is a total waste of time. It's more of repetition. Same thing over and over again. It's just suitable if you want to play around the language just for fun and not for application in real life.

Unpopular opinion 🇩🇪 Duolingo will not make you fluent in German. It will teach you to protect a streak. Not hold a conversation. Real fluency comes from: • Reading full sentences in context • Speaking with actual humans • Making embarrassing mistakes and surviving them • Consuming German content daily The green owl can start your journey. It cannot finish it. Agree or disagree? 👇🏽

Nobody told you that 6 words handle almost every situation in German. Not grammar tables. Not rules. Just 6 modal verbs. Master them — you can express ability, permission, obligation, desire, and doubt in one structure. Thread 🇩🇪🧵

Things Germans say that confuse everyone else 🇩🇪😂 "Das ist mir Wurst." Literal: That is sausage to me. Actual meaning: I don't care. "Ich verstehe nur Bahnhof." Literal: I only understand train station. Actual meaning: I have no idea what you're saying. "Tomaten auf den Augen haben." Literal: To have tomatoes on your eyes. Actual meaning: To be oblivious to what's happening around you. "Jemandem die Daumen drücken." Literal: To press thumbs for someone. Actual meaning: To keep fingers crossed for someone. German idioms hit different. 😭🇩🇪 Drop one you know 👇🏽

🇩🇪 German has a word for the sadness you feel knowing the world will never be what it should be. Weltschmerz Welt = world. Schmerz = pain English can't name it. German built a word for it – because naming a feeling is honouring it. More where that came from. Grab a coffee🧵👇
