Complex eruption with moderate long duration M1.3 solar flare from region 4405 in the southeast of the Sun. Large dimming north of it, opening field lines, post-eruptive arcades and radio emissions suggest the release of a CME. Earth-directed components not very likely.

Jhelioviewer (JHV) users, i need your help🙏 I’ve only recently started using the platform and playing around with all the functions it has but when it comes to downloading the imagery, that’s when the problem arises. All the videos i download are single-frame only, 00.00 or max-

00:01 again with one frame only…is this a problem other people have encountered? am i doing something wrong? or is it just my computer old and useless?

"Chasing The Blues" Jumping Pound Alberta 20260322T1300Z Watch as the night sky ends and the scattered sunlight enhances the excited Nitrogen, turning the sky blue with scattered sunlight and Nitrogen blue aurora borealis northern lights @JAtanackov My favourite time whilst pursuing the aurora borealis northern lights is after sunset, and before sunrise, this is when scattered sunlight excited Nitrogen in the upper atmosphere and turns the aurora blue, sometimes so bright that you can actually make out the blues. The first timelapse is with my Nikon D810 with a 12 mm lens at ISO 3200 4 seconds F2.8, the camera is pointed north. The second timelapse is with my D850, 14mm lens at ISO 5000 2 seconds F2.8, the camera is pointed ENE.

7 days until comet C/2026 A1 (MAPS): looks like the comet has brightened to 8th magnitude. It is now only 0.42 AU from the Sun, approaching the orbit of Mercury (it will reach it in 2 days). All bets are off. The comet has been behaving erratically with breaks in its brightening and even slight fading, followed by rapid increases in brightness. Historically this has never been a good sign, however, Kreutz comets are somewhat different due to their histories so ... all bets are off. I still expect the comet to disintegrate before perihelion, with a smaller chance of it surviving as a headless wonder. We'll see in a week :)
