Am I right in understanding that the MP for Ashton-under-Lyne does not live in Ashton OR in London to attend Parliament? Apparently Angela Rayner has declared her primary residence to be in Hove… 270 miles from her constituency that she is supposed to represent. If true, this is perverse tax evasion by the Deputy Prime Minister. Before she inevitably tries to backpedal, this is NOT an “oversight” or “error of judgement”. This is what’s known as fraud.

This situation is all a tad confusing, but it appears to be legal. However, legality and hypocrisy are not mutually exclusive - especially when coming from the Secretary of State for Housing. Labour has been one of the biggest disappointments since the Hobbit trilogy.
