BIP110 is not a stance against non-monetary use of bitcoin because it is not a technical solution. Many/most bitcoiners against BIP110 don't like the JPGs either, we all just don't have a solution.

Every accusation is a confession. The very fact of the matter is that the Core team decided to push through an extremely contentious change for absolutely no reason. The PR for uncapping OP_RETURN data had about 4x as many dislikes as likes on GitHub. Core devs then told everyone to go get fucked if they didn't like it. BIP-110 is just a response to what Core did. There is absolutely no reason for images and other nonsense to be permanently embedded into a peer-to-peer electronic cash network.

bip110 will not activate. 1. the proposal is technically misguided and ineffective 2. the fork is a hostile takeover attempt and would give a single (crazy) person unprecedented power over the bitcoin protocol of course there is massive resistance against such a proposal and the total number of people the bip110 can mobilize is limited to the technically illiterate angry mob and their influencers who think twitter is real life rationality and the spirit of collaboration wins incompetence and mob mentality loses #bitcoin
