Infinitely agree here. You work with some of the biggest IPs like FIFA, NFL and Pudgy. You build games that cater to hundreds of millions of players. You let players trade & enjoy DeFi features natively in-app. You abstract the Web3 backend. Mythical Games.

So the reason for this is twofold: 1) crypto people literally don’t give a sht about anything other than making money so they will only play ponzi-style reskins of number go up games 2) non-crypto people *HATE* crypto in games bc of 1) So the user pool of “crypto gamers” has rapidly shrunk to basically 0….which means the unit economics don’t work at all - it costs money to run chains/pay studios/etc and then the only people actually playing are airdrop grinder/farmers who don’t spend Pirate Nation was the “best” attempt at an original game fully onchain and they had to shut down the special-purpose high performance chains custom built for the level of throughput needed to support fully onchain bc there weren’t enough players to support the operational costs. The future of gaming is web2 games with DeFi features and p2p markets embedded in the background abstracted away from users but powered by crypto rails.
