@emkwan of all companies in the world, a ferrari is identified by its look. the could have made an ev out of any of their current and historical book, and people would have blinked because it wasn't a v12. but to miss on looks ... the old man is rolling around in his grave

Lots of people have opinions about the new Ferrari Luce… But having actually seen it in person, my honest feeling is this: Ferrari looks like a company being pushed by legislation and the future of the industry to experiment with its own heritage… even at the risk of upsetting the exact people who made the brand iconic in the first place. That’s what makes this car so fascinating. It doesn’t feel like Ferrari WANTED to make “just another EV.” It feels like Ferrari trying to survive the future without losing its soul. Some will respect that. Others will hate it. And honestly? Both sides make valid points.

It's amazing how much cheaper cars have gotten over time The first Ford Model T cost $850, which would translate today to a whopping $27,000

People might hate property taxes. But will they like the new 15% sales tax, 6% local income tax, 1.5% school district tax, 1% sewer & water tax, 0.5% library improvement income tax, and $500 annual police coverage subscription? Plus tolls on every road?
Ben Eisenhart@BEisenhart

People hate taxes and think it’s theft, but I wonder what a world with no taxes looks like. Schools? Private. Roads? Toll. Military? Not really sure. Fire/Police Departments? Swipe your card before they put out your house fire. Medicare and Social Security? Completely privatized. So in reality, is it viable?

@ghuff how many characters do you think i can type? the problems are the same all over. higher spending levels require more taxation, leaving you with less. is this a precise enough grand unification theory?

@fred5471 But if you didn’t get into it, how would you know? And if you did “get into it” how come you can only talk about it in a vague way? 🤔

@fred5471 We have that conversation every single election cycle. If you don't like your local government, vote for change. Better yet, run for office and be the change.

Hey everyone around the world 👋 In Japan, there’s a surprisingly heated debate about how to cook pasta. Some people say: “Never boil the pasta together with the sauce or canned ingredients! It’s wrong!” Others say: “It’s totally fine and more delicious!” So I want to ask all of you overseas: In your country, is it normal to boil pasta together with the sauce or canned tomatoes/meat in the same pot? Or do you always boil the pasta in plain water first, then mix with sauce later? I’m really curious what the standard is in different countries! Drop your answer below 👇 Team “Boil together” or Team “Boil separately”?

Boomers had it rough too. High interest rates in the 80s. Recessions. Hard times. I hear you. But you also had: Pensions that actually paid out. College tuition you could cover with a summer job. Houses that cost 3x your salary not 15x. Healthcare that didn’t bankrupt you. One income that could support a family. A job market that rewarded loyalty with stability. We’re not saying you didn’t struggle. We’re saying you struggled and still landed somewhere. We’re struggling and the landing keeps getting further away. That’s the difference. And no amount of avocado toast jokes changes the math.

My brother in Christ, a single McDonald’s Cheeseburger cost $0.89 in 2006. This is why Epstein called you Goy Cattle.
Tang 1054@Tang1054

@RefinedPopulist It still isn't. The $20 lunch is doordash. Fastfood still has cheap items on the menu. You don't need doordash 3 times a day.
