@RobertFife Will not work. Donald trump believes, in no particular order, in protectionism, autarchy, and beggar my neighbour trade policies. Straight out of the Great Depression playbook. Moreover, the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 is credited with deepening the Great Depression.

No, Mr. Trump, Canada is not “poisoning our air.” Climate change is fueling more wildfires, heat waves, floods and other extreme weather. Stop blaming our allies and start standing up to your friends in Big Oil, who are driving the climate crisis.

Trump on Canada: “I told them. I mean, you got to stop these fires from coming in and you know poisoning our air. Our air has been poisoned. Maybe they should pay us some damages or something, or we should do some tariffs”

@FoodProfessor Under the Canadian constitution, provinces are not bound by treaties signed by Canada. Surely, you must know better.

@FoodProfessor Canada violated the CUSMA agreement by reserving 80-85% of its preferred dairy tariff-rate quotas for Canadian processors.

@YourAnonNews @BGulsby Were it otherwise, Trump would not have nominated him. And senators up for re-election this year or in 2028 vote against his confirmation at their own peril. Because if they do, MAGA spanks. And MAGA consists of the followers of Trump.

@nationalpost Some baby-boomers watch CBC and nothing else. Others watch Global or CTV. Assuming, for the sake of argument that most baby-boomers watch CBC and that CBC has a federal Liberal Party bias. It does not follow that they vote Liberal as a result: people aren’t robots.

The U.S. uses prison labour (incl. for private firms) more than any other country, hasn't raised its min. wage ($7.25/hr) since 2009, and violates dozens of international labour standards every day. So Trump's new Section 301 tariffs have nothing to do with concern for labour. /2

Farmers are reporting that data centres are destroying their bees. I don't think people understand how important this is. Bees pollinate about one in every three bites of food we eat. They're far more important to humanity than any Al tool or data centre.

@honeymoon250 @1KickstartBart A nightmare team. In terms of winning the next presidential election. That said, the choice of presidential candidate is up to Democratic Party voters in caucuses or primaries.

@yonkojohn Trump signed on to the current duty-free quota for imported dairy products in 2018. He has repeatedly stated that he wants no imported steel and no Canadian cars. And U.S. dairy production is estimated to benefit from a 30 % federal subsidy, resulting in over-production.

Nobody can doubt my anti-Communist credentials--and I have no tolerance for the Socialists making inroads in the Dem Party. But this Trump admin attempt at a new Red Scare is pathetic. At least in the Spanish Civil War, there were actual Communists for the fascists to fight!

@yonkojohn Wrong. Trump believes in re-shoring manufacturing to the U.S. That means, as he has said on several occasions, no more Canadian cars. And Trump signed an agreement in 2018 that set the current duty-free dairy quota for U.S. dairy products. And they have sugar cane quotas.
