@ShillPort @spiRiituaL That’s too absolute. Politics is not black and white like that. Even people you call “evil” can still do one or two things that benefit some people. You no fit just cancel everything like say nothing good ever comes out of it. Reality is more complex than that.

@spiRiituaL I'll stop you somewhere around the first few lines... In the grand scheme of things, there's no definition of good Tinubu operates. In this universe and all the ones parallel to it evil is evil

I saw a post about Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently. Some people were cursing him. Others were praising him. But one comment hit me… The person said: “With the money this man has made, even in his next life, he can never be poor.” And it got me thinking… What if our definition of good wasnt this man’s path to success? What if this is actually how the world works? What if the reason I admire Peter Obi is that he operates within my definition of good? And what if the reason people like Mc Oluomo and Tinubu have come this far is that they operate within a completely different definition of good, bad, and evil? So who is right? Or better question… Who defines what is right? Religion tried to give us structure. It gave us language for good, evil, morality, and empathy. I once heard someone define sin to me like this: “Anything you do or say, and instantly feel bad about… that is your spirit telling you I am not with you on this.” Compared to the Bible which defines it as: Sin is anything that goes against God’s will… even your thoughts and intentions. Now think about this… Some people kill every day. Some people do things we call “demonic.” And we judge them instantly. But what if… They don’t even see it as wrong? What if, in their world, it is normal? Who is the moral authority? I have spent the last hours thinking & writing about this. Countries go to war… kill thousands… then thank God for victory. But the same Bible says “Thou shalt not kill.” So whose God are they praying to? Even education… There are billionaires today who never went to school or dropped out of school, yet they are on top of the food chain because they just learned and understood the simple basics. On the other hand, some people followed school, did everything right… and still struggle. So is success really tied to education? Or just to the rules of the game you choose to play? Life starts to look different when you see this… We are not all playing the same game. We are playing different games… with different rules… under different definitions of “good.” Maybe that is why… someone you see as a devil… is someone else’s answered prayer. Buhari was a disaster to me, but some people miss him… because their world made sense under him. So maybe the real question is not… “Who is good or bad?” Maybe the real question is… “What game are you playing… and who defined your rules?” People always ask: “Why do good people die early?” What if they just chose a game where goodness is not the winning strategy? What if they were playing a different game entirely and the world doesn’t reward goodness but rewards alignment with its rules? Is that why we see politicians today working with people they once criticized? Because they got to understand the dynamics of the game better, while we on the other side choose to understand with emotions? The world is not fully understood… so we use emotions to fill the gaps where understanding is missing. And that is a problem too.

@DavidHundeyin I am more interested in the first paragraph. They took down Parallel Facts and came to WAW and now here is WAW? What's their actual mission? Are you thinking what I am thinking? I can't conclude until I know the details of what transpired in Parallel facts and now WAW.

I could have exited with bang last year and taken the entire platform down with me, like these this same group of people did when they took the Parallel Facts website down while exiting before they invested in WAW 3 years ago. But I'm not that kind of person. I had grouses. I had beef. But I won't destroy something I built just because I have beef with someone who is running it. I'd rather leave it for the person and go do my own thing, which is exactly what I did. It's like the biblical story of Solomon and the 2 women claiming to be a child's mother. It's easy to see who the real mother is by gauging who is willing to light it on fire to prove a point. West Africa Weekly was my child. I told the story of how it began in my book. I was living in this dirty Airbnb studio apartment in a dingy building called French Hostel in Akweteyman, Achimota, Accra. It was called French Hostel because most of the tenants were students from Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon. This was where I was at rock bottom in 2021. Still winded and confused from ending up in exile after End SARS, running out of money and options, waking up everyday and wondering where the hell I fit in this new world post-October 20. Then someone here on Twitter tagged me on a post about something called the 'Substack Local Fellowship', and even though I wasn't really sure whether I wanted to go back to investigative journalism, it was at least a temporary way out of my existential conundrum. In my application, I named the prospective newsletter "West Africa Weekly", because I thought I would put out a new piece every week and since I was in Ghana, I wanted to cover Ghanaian stories too. I ended up getting it, and they asked me to nominate a graphic artist and editor. I nominated my editor from @NewsWireNGR, @TheFavoredWoman and that was how it all began. Just me in a cheap, dingy apartment that had a cockroach problem, a cheap Dell Latitude laptop, a Vodafone 4G MiFi router, the promise of a $7,500 funding tranche every 3 months, some editorial support from Fola, and however far I was willing to go to get a great story. That's where all of this began. Just me and my cheap laptop in an urban slum somewhere in Accra. From there, the world heard my voice. I told Itunu Babalola's story and nearly got arrested in Cote d'Ivoire in the process. I went after loan sharks owned by Chinese triads. I went after Nigeria's biggest corporates. I told the story that could have ended my career because of how close I was to it. I went after a drug lord-turned-politician who was running for president, and eventually won. I took the FBI, CIA, DEA, IRS, USAO and State Dept to court and won, only for them to refuse to carry out the court order to date. Somewhere along the line I was granted political asylum and I got taken into the journalistic equivalent of a witness protection program because my life was under threat. Nigeria's National Intelligence Agency attempted to kidnap me from Ghana. It was the craziest adventure of my life, and it was nearly the last one. So naturally when it was time to accept investment and move this operation from one crazy daredevil with his newsletter and YouTube channel to a structured operation with a board and reporters and HR, I wasn't going to say no. I was tired and I needed to rest. And so despite all the subsequent humiliations, annoyances and grievances after I let other people control what I built, I was never going to burn it all down just because my time there was up. My baby is always my baby regardless of who controls it. Most people are just finding out today that I left WAW nearly 8 months ago, only because the new management decided to act this drama on the TL. They will be fine or not. I wish this could have been handled differently, but to each his own. Nobody can take my memories away from me, and I will always remember what I built. Not what it has become. Peace and love be unto ye. 👋🏿

Just some guidance, my learned brother @egi_nupe: It is always better for an intellectual to say “I am not aware of any lawyer who will…” instead of “No lawyer will…” That is because no one knows everything or everyone…not even Ezemmuo.😊 You ended your post well when you used “almost impossible” instead of “it is impossible.” Well done.

I can tell you for a fact that no lawyer, I mean no lawyer will charge 10% for notarisation. If it’s a property transaction, I can understand but to notorise? It’s almost impossible!

“Meet the best landlord in the world, my former landlord, the moment he knew I was building my own permanent place, he gave me his full support, my rent expired last year June but this man didn't allow me to renew my rent again, he gave me extra 6 months rent free to complete my building. You can imagine leaving a rented space to your own permanent site, this man made it possible. I’ll forever be indebted you sir. Thank you for making this journey an easy one..." These are the only countries on Earth that are almost debt free....and doesn't borrow... Brunei Population: - 50,000 people Liechtenstein Population: -40,000 people Macau Population: -680,000 people Every other country on Earth borrow.... Obi borrowed as gov... Atiku borrowed as Vice President.... Amaechi borrowed as gov and Minister... El Rufai borrowed as gov.... As powerful as the gulf nations with their Oil wealth they are all highly indebted... Saudi Arabia Debt - $500billion United Arab Emirates Debt - $430billion Qatar Debt - $280billion Oman Debt - $80billion Kuwait Debt -$20billion Bahrain Debt - $70billion Egypt Debt - $570billion... Morocco Debt - $150billion Algeria Debt - $150billion Tunisia $75billion.. Iraq Debt $65billiom Jordan Debt - $60billion... Nigeria Debt - $105billion... A healthy indebted nation is measured by Debt to GDP and revenue to debt.... Nigeria Debt to GDP....is still below 36%.... Unhealthy indebted nations are those that have debt to GDP ratio above 50%....( Global benchmark)... Nigeria Revenue to debt is still below 60%.... Unhealthy indebted nations have revenue to debts above 90%... Under Buhari it was above 100%.... Nigeria needs $200billion to fix power... $100billion to fix roads among others.... Yet have revenue below $30billion salaries and other recurrent Expenses eat over $20billion... It's insane to think Nigeria won't borrow to give Nigerians the comfort they deserve.... Wailers have no head to think.... So they believe Nigeria development must be sacrifice on the alter of politics.... They have leaders who are clueless on how to build a modern Nation.... And it's expected that their followers won't be different.... It is because of these clueless wailers and their leaders that made the Urhobos to say. It is better to born a thief than to born a mumu... Proverbs are not for kids.... © Onovughe Igwe

Years ago, I borrowed 5k from Carbon, withdrew it at a POS and they gave me 4,900. A corper who usually comes to my house to play PlayStation stole the entire money but I didn't know he's the one at that time. Hunger dealt with me then plus the pain of having to pay it back in 7 days. The guy called me few days ago and confessed. He said he wants to do restitution and wants me to name whatever the 4,900 was worth to me today. What would my tears, trekking to school, teaching on an empty stomach and paying the loan back with another loan be worth in today's currency?
