I’m calling it right now. Candidates who support data centers are going to lose in the midterms. The American people are fed up with this being shoved down our throats.

You are not a serious person. It might not be here today, but it's coming. And serious people who look into the future are disturbed by what they see. Unfortunately, some of those same people love power and wealth above all else. So the problems humanity faces in the near future should be very concerning. But laugh away. You'll have no choice.

My wife and I were recently discussing the significant expansion of data centers across the United States. We noted that a substantial number of these facilities appear to lack a clear, high-value operational purpose relative to their scale and resource consumption. We also observed that many are being constructed on prime agricultural land. This led us to consider a more speculative hypothesis: could the primary intent behind a portion of these developments be to accelerate the depletion of underground aquifers? By significantly reducing available groundwater, such activity could impair or eliminate large-scale farming and ranching operations. Additionally, any resulting ecological disruptions—such as increased pest populations like ticks—might further limit activities such as hunting. If these effects were to materialize on a broad scale, would they sufficiently constrain traditional food production to push consumer reliance toward alternatives such as bio meat products associated with investors like Bill Gates, or insect-based dairy substitutes? We would be interested in thoughtful perspectives on this idea.

Unpopular opinion: Data centers are good 👍 God gave the cheetah speed, birds flight & knowledge to humans. More efficient processing of information will raise living standards across the board. Data/info/knowledge (whatever you call it) is the most important resource humans have. “It from bit,” as John Wheeler said.

@elonmusk They can have empathy for them behind bars. Provide counseling. Father figures. Whatever. They just can't mingle in societies. It's common sense. It has little to do with a measure of empathy.

Beware the empathy exploit. Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow). For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

The email can be FOIA requested. Also, as we revealed on today’s show, Karoline Leavitt’s team was cc’ed on the email so reporters can feel free to ask the WH Press office. This is weird and the public should demand answers regarding why an hour after the shooting, the military is concerning itself with boosting Erika Kirk as a part of a psychological operation. Also what was she doing in the West Wing before the shooting? Who were the surrogates used to boost the Erika video?

I'm all for debate. But what we have in social media is not debate. It's mostly people voicing their "opinion", almost always dressed up as some/their version of the truth. And the loudest ones are heard based on an algorithm. The others go quietly into an eternal void. Social media is a trap.

@freennc @Rothmus Every social media have sub communities that express rage, darkness and can promote misinformation. X tends to have the most voices, healthy debate, low censorship, and more engagement from around the world. If you can handle being challenged, you will be. It is a good thing.

The real objective behind this is to censor X. Those in power understand that if people were allowed to speak freely, they would lose the next presidential election.

The problem with Bill Gates is that he views human beings as a system of ones and zeros. He has a total disregard for human consciousness, which can't be measured. I don't think Bill Gates is who should be in charge of saving the planet if living, breathing beings are who inhabit it.
