Watching the religious right in America worshipping Trump and proudly refusing to take reasonable precautions in a pandemic should once and for all convince us that many American fundamentalist Christians are just one Kool-Aid™ packet away from going full Jim Jones.

@Pastor_ChrisH You do realize that a desert can become hotter than it had previously, don't you? And that night-time temperatures and humidity can change due to climate change, making a desert night worse than it had previously?

@PetrosScientia You rely on linguistic scholars and textural critics, otherwise you would not have your Bible. You also rely on a long line of teachers who have programmed you with all sorts of beliefs that you think are now your own.

@MenWhoSawJesus The canonical gospels are all anonymous. The texts do not state the authors. They are literally what the word "anonymous" means. Likewise Genesis does not state its authorship. A few letters of Paul claim him as author. Revelations claims "John of Patmos" as an author.

Follow the hypocrisy of atheist and progressive scholars: The authorship of the New Testament Gospels are considered unreliable because atheist and progressive scholars assert anonymous authorship. At the same time, atheist and progressive scholars assert anonymous authorship of the Pentateuch as authoritative. Pundits of the JEDP, or Documentary Hypothesis, assert that Moses didn't write the Pentateuch, even though his name is stated as the author 720 times in the Hebrew texts and 96 times in the Koine Greek texts over a 1,450-year period of history. These atheist and progressive scholars claim that four anonymous authors wrote the Pentateuch, not Moses. But wait a minute, I thought anonymity rendered a document of antiquity, unreliable! So which is it? Anonymity is authoritative or it's not? Of course this depends on who and for what purpose an atheist or progressive scholar wants to use these terms. All of the Bible is completely true and reliable. There is no evidence anywhere that any part of the Bible is not true. Hold the feet of atheist and progressive scholars, to the fire. Demand that they prove their false assertions. They cannot, and therefore, the Bible always remains true.

First you must understand that no one knows when the Synoptic Gospels were completed. What we do know is that Paul departed for Asia on his first missionary journey in 45. He carried with him the eyewitness testimony of the men who saw Jesus. He used their testimony and the fact that Jesus fulfilled all the OT Messianic Prophecies, to convince people to believe Jesus is the Messiah. Without their testimony there is no possibility that Paul could convince so many that Jesus is Yahweh, the Messiah. This fact demands that the Synoptic Gospels were largely completed by 44. We see evidence Paul had these Gospels with him, in his letters written to the churches in Asia. Paul states that these people accepted the eyewitness testimony of the men who saw Jesus as "the Word of God."

When a person tells you that sin doesn't exist because God doesn't exist, they reveal their true agenda: It's not about evidence for God, it's about a desire to remove guilt for sin. If a person can convince themselves that there is no God, then the Bible and its stated penalty for sin, no longer has any power. The problem with this premise is that God came to earth and proved His existence. He said that we are all sinners and unless we all repent, we will all be lost. Two of the leading satirists for this premise of no God, no sin, is @paulogia0 and @Shann_Q0 In the following video these two entertainers state that a Christian cannot truthfully assert sin as a reality if God doesn't exist. I challenged this false assertion of "no God, no sin," and neither Paul or Shannon were able to impeach the historical, eyewitness testimony of the men who recorded that God came to earth and singularly, proved His existence. This challenge for debate was issued on June 9, 2024, in the form of a written, unpretentious, debate. Apparently the claim of these two that there is no evidence God exists, has been proven wrong. Reasonable and intelligent persons understand that when someone makes a bold claim, and they refuse to prove it, they have lost all credibility. God does exist. Sin does exist. All of us are accountable to God for our sins. Jesus came to earth and proved that God and sin exist. Paul and Shannon do not have the ability to impeach the evidence Jesus left us in the historical record. Their quirky videos are nothing more than an attempt at entertaining, not as substantive, truth. You can see their video and my impeachment of their claims, with a challenge for written debate, at the following link: robertcliftonrobinson.com/2024/06/09/imp…

🚨FLASHBACK Trump said he never asked God for forgiveness: “I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t…When I drink my little wine – which is about the only wine I drink – and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness”

@RevivedThoughts @Evan26815416 What has happened, though, is that in the past couple of centuries critical scholars have torn the Bible to shreds, as they take off layer after layer of myth-building. Only apologists still claim that "Jesus" is a well attested figure in history. Reality is contrary to that.

@RevivedThoughts @Evan26815416 That doesn't make sense. Historians have long thought that the "Jesus" of the canonical gospels was some Jewish radical/activist/preacher. Ever since Schweitzer the default position has been that "Jesus" was an apocalyptic preacher.

@RevivedThoughts For the several replies that are moralistic hand-wringing, none of them hit the real issue here: you're worried about X censoring you. Seriously? The same X that Musk has trashed with his own trolling and love of trolls? The same X that now allows porn?

Is looking at bad stuff online (trying not to get censored by X) a biblically permissible reason to divorce someone? Basically, is it the same as physically cheating?

@MichaelHorton_ That humans have a tendency to escapism is not a great revelation. Sometimes that escapism is dressed up with liturgical garb, and sometimes it is not. Leading thinkers discovered the deficiencies of Christianity long ago, those left in the pew tend to have less education.

The early proponents of the new physics, Wolfgang Pauli and J. Robert Oppenheimer, looked for “the turn to Oriental religion and mysticism” that would later be popularized by New Age thinkers. Ironically, many pioneers and contemporary leaders in the field of religious studies belong to a long train of perennial theosophists whose “secularism” stands in contrast to traditional Christianity, but not to myth, ritual, and spirituality.

Adultery. Lying. Stealing. Coveting your neighbor's wife. Coveting your neighbor's goods. Keep the Sabbath Holy. Don't take God's Name in Vain. People who support Donald Trump don't actually care about The Ten Commandments. And they'll never try to post the Sermon on the Mount, bc they reject Jesus even harder. #MAGA

Putting the Ten Commandments in schools isn’t the same as putting the Quran or a statue of Baphomet in schools for at least a few reasons: 1) The 10 commandments are true, 2) the 10 commandments are good, and 3) America was founded upon uniquely Christian concepts, principles, premises and assumptions. Our law-giving is modeled after God’s law-giving to Israel. It is from the Bible - not another religious text - that America derived its ideas of human rights, private property, due process, etc. Knowing the 10 Commandments should be required in every school for the sheer fact that it is impossible to understand American history or Western civilization without them. That cannot be said of the tenets of Satanism, Islam, Buddhism, et al, which are entirely irrelevant to the foundation of our country. Also, the display of the 10 Commandments compels no one to believe or worship anything. It’s amazing how many supposedly Christian conservatives have been duped by the moral relativism inherent in secular liberalism

I thought we were talking about the part where you said Jesus called the syrophoenecian woman a dog not fit to eat from the table. Even if the part about Jesus saving the adulterous woman from a stoning was added years later, so what? It was added in good faith, and there must have been some record of it before.
