Looks to me like the increase in life expectancy in high income countries is slowing down. Is this a good thing? Well, if you think "the gap narrowing" (egalitarianism) is good, then yes. Egalitarianism is the idea that equal stagnation is preferable to unequal progress.

@Mining_Atoms Measuring eg oil, coal or gas in terms of energy makes sense, because they're storable. Electricity - it's just not possible to store economically - producing a TWh at the wrong time can mean that TWh is completely wasted - or even a net negative economic value.

@Mining_Atoms Indeed you did - I didn't notice.👍 However, doesn't "dispatchable Mega/Gigawatts" (dispatchable power) make a lot more sense than "dispachable Terawatt hours" (dispatchable energy)? Electricity is a very particular kind of good because of its time-critical nature.
