@freezed00

I have very few interesting stories to tell, so I quip. Things aren’t as bad as they seem — they’re worse. There is no 4th neutrino.

Is it bad that we've only gotten to the hype man and the player intros on Opening Day and I'm now rooting for a lockout?

Bam Adebayo 81 piece! Tied with Kobe with 85 seconds left. This has been one of the most memorable NBA games I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot of them)

@atrupar Point taken, but I think it’s fairly well charted.

Warner: "There was no imminent threat to the United States by the Iranians. There was a threat to Israel. If we equate a threat to Israel as the equivalent of an imminent threat to the US, then we are in uncharted territory."

@TheOldGlobe’s staging of Bartleby is *so* good, you’d be foolish to miss it. Brilliant writing, direction, cast, staging, sound design — all of it. Just go.

I would call this "Liberation Day" except the term is already taken. Other ideas?

@jasonfurman Interesting take. You’re right on that line between economic analysis as art/science . 🙂

Perhaps the best case for the pejorative "frozen" job market as opposed to the complimentary "secure" job market is the increase in the share of unemployment that is long term. But I'm still uncertain & would be interested in better arguments/evidence.

Calling the job market as "frozen" sounds pejorative. One data point supporting this: the hiring rate is what it was in the Great Recession. But separation rates also near the lowest on record, as are layoff/discharge rates. Should we call the job market secure?

This poll from CBS News/YouGov contradicts the popular claim that voters think Democrats are as ideologically extreme as Republicans

This is worth watching. Like everyone in my age group, I’m sad about his death. Be warned: it’s a hard video to watch if you know someone dying of cancer. But he says some beautiful things. I slightly knew James van der Beek when we were kids; we took piano lessons back to back and had mutual friends. It brings me back to that time. RIP, far too soon.

James Van Der Beek, star of ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ died after a long battle with colorectal cancer. He was 48. This is a video he made telling people about his struggles and what cancer taught him. May he Rest in Peace 🕊️ .

There is very likely going to be a blue wave in November 2026. Trump will do what he can to disturb the election and stop Rs from losing the House. It probably won't work, but the probability of a tail outcome is worrisome, and the attempt is the story
