So this 3 day old calf made for an eventful morning. Kids got it up to check it, it went full blown fight or flight and ran through a fence and went 3/4 mile down the road and into another another pasture Took us an hour to find it and another 15 minutes to catch it

I often get asked about pulling calves and people are surprised to hear when I say we lay everything down to pull. This heifer had a leg back, which I could not un-wedge and by laying her down I was able to just use one chain and a strap to pull a live calf. If you wonder why I’m on the gate, it’s because the heifer was pushing left and I wanted to make sure she went down on her right side. I’m between 120-130lbs, so need all the help I can get.
