Local historian Steve Frias tells me McKee is apparently the first governor not to be endorsed by his own party since RI adopted its modern primary system in 1948 wpri.com/news/elections…

Would be an odd decision for a one-time Democratic rising star. Running for Gov again would suggest that no one in the private sector (university or Wall Street for example) wants to hire her. She would also have to answer for DOT's performance that led to the bridge failure.

VIDEO: Here's the moment when Gov. McKee talked about using former Speaker Bill Murphy late last session as his attorney for the ILO probe. Murphy is a powerhouse lobbyist on Smith Hill. (The State House audio system was failing during the answer.) wpri.com/target-12/gov-…

So the party that claims that democracy is on the ballot will not let their delegates engage in freedom of speech 🤔
katherine gregg@kathyprojo

Surprised? Nope. Told today in light of my column that state DemChair @BerettaLiz Perik told natl convention delegates at their 1st meeting 6/25 they were not authorized to talk to media and if they did, in Chicago, they could be sent home: "UnitedFront." providencejournal.com/story/news/pol…

A constitutional convention could lead to a ballot question that would require voter approval for “boondoggles,” @friasforrep said, citing 38 Studios, Curt Schilling’s ill-fated video game venture, and the Tidewater Landing soccer stadium project. bostonglobe.com/2024/06/03/met…

A year after the implementation of the contested millionaires tax, Massachusetts has seen tax revenue slide, and rankings for business-friendliness plummet. To critics, it’s proof the policy is one Rhode Island should avoid at all costs. rhodeislandcurrent.com/2024/03/04/tax… via @RICurrent
