So I got to attend a Q&A event with @matthewmercer tonight as a guest... To be completely honest, this couldn't have come at a better time. I've expressed how I've been feeling lately as a content creator with the stress of IRL things coming down on me... But listening to him talk about his journey... to how he deals with burnout and making sure he balances his work and personal life... honestly was really inspiring to me. It might be silly, but I felt really honored to be able to have attended this event. To listen to him talk about how he questions whether he deserves his success, being honest about "Insecurities and minds a bitch" made him that much more relatable because I feel that so much in these spaces. I constantly question what I've done to deserve the support I've received. Listening to him struggle with the same things that I do, and hearing about how he pushes forward and tries anyways, it's given me hope and motivation to keep pushing forward myself. So Matt, if you see this, thank you so much. You don't know me, but you made such a large impact on me tonight and I want you to know about it, even if this just gets lost in the abyss of the internet. You make a difference in people's lives, just like you set out to do. It's what I aspire to do one day as well, so thank you for showing me it can be done 💜

Yesterday 7 of the 30+ employees were laid off at the Academy Film Archive without notice. This included the Director & Head of Preservation who was one of the best managers I ever had. This feels like a death knell for the 3rd largest film archive in North America. (1/3)
