The ClickTock Chrome extension is now available in the Chrome Web Store. It connects to your WordPress install to use that as a backend and allows you to track your time without being on a particular site. In the future I might try a WP multisite to use as a backend to make a mini SaaS from it. chromewebstore.google.com/detail/kiacfnk…

#BuildThatBiz Week 41: A two day work week as we were away Mon - Wed for a family mini-break down to the coast. As remaining days were limited due to being school holidays and extended family needing help it was a gradual ease back in to work mode by catching up on emails and smaller tasks. The big picture task I did focus on was setting up the ToggleWP Partner Programme. I would like to start with a small group to pilot it for a couple of weeks before opening it up (if you see this and offer site maintenance / builds check your DM or message me). I am going to dog food the Partner process and look at my own hosting / service offerings to practice what I preach. While PressConf was way out of budget, hearing the title of Katie's presentation "Life as a business plan" got me wondering about the direction I want my business to go in. Returning home to 8 WeTransfers of images for the new site build and 6 related emails isn't the sort of routine I would be keen on. My very long term aim has always been product first, but the occasional big project make more of an impact than individual sales in the early days. I have just over 10 weeks left of my 1st year post-Corp to prove it has potential, but am a long way short of where I had hoped to be. After working from home for the last 8 years, gradually reducing corporate days from 5 to 3 (then none), I don't think I could face a commute back to an office for the 9-5 grind. With children in two different schools and only 1 car there is a practical side to it not working either. This needs to translate into getting lazer focused on making the business work for the life we need, while still being able to take the day off if the weather is nice. I have never been that great at sticking to just one project as I'm not an all eggs in one basket person, but I do recognise I need to free myself from other distractions. My Chrome extensions were good time savers for me but trying to market them and compete would be a huge time sink so those will be parked for now unless I need to improve them to help with my own workflows. Focusing on plugins for the freelancer / small agency market should have more potential than individual site owners, as there should be higher site counts and any support questions should be more targeted than those from the less experienced site owner. On that note another week is over, and I still haven't written my Q1 round up blog post yet. That'll be something for the weekend I think.

What does this actually mean?

Meaningful moment at @WordCampAsia in Mumbai. 💙 Mary Hubbard signed on behalf of the WordPress Foundation in a collaboration agreement with DY Patil Agriculture & Technical University (@DYP_ATU), Talsande, Kolhapur, with Dean Jaydeep Patil and faculty members present. The agreement reflects the growing momentum behind WP Credits and its work to connect education, open source, and contribution across India.

I'm putting together the ToggleWP Partner Programme and am looking for some marketing people who would be interested in writing prompts on behalf of freelancers / small agencies to help guide their end clients "AI Writer" module. I have no work to refer over, but would include you on an upcoming list so others could get in touch with you directly. More on my thoughts behind it here: friendlywebguy.co.uk/beyond-the-plu…

Am I being weird with my hands? Feel like I’m being weird with my hands here. Maybe I need to hold two water bottles. This is all I will think about the rest of the conference 🤣
PressConf@Press__Conf

Some of the best conversations at #PressConf2026 happen off the stage. ☀️ Our attendees made the most of the lunch break outdoors because in-person time is rare, and every moment counts. Kind reminder: drink your water, Tempe is no joke! 💧 #PressConf #WordPress #WPcommunity

Most people don’t need more strategy. They need: – the small things done – consistently – by someone who knows what they’re doing So I made this: $100/month. One task at a time. buff.ly/s3It9ma

Back from a few family days down by the coast. A lot warmer than expected so it was only fair to get some ice creams and milkshakes in. Fish n chips in the car one day, toasted cheese n ham sarnies the next as it was super windy. It could do with a vac out, but not today.

#BuildThatBiz Week 40: Seems I totally missed week 39's update, whoops. Ended the quarter on a high with major updates released for ToggleWP V1.1, Document Library Pro Power Pack v2.1, ClickTock v2.3, plus a new Kadence Forms Router that came from a need on a client site. Mid-week started the shift towards marketing, with revised pricing plans for ToggleWP (now out of early adopter phase) and prep work for a new Partner Programme - watch this space. DLP Power Pack enhances the main DLP plugin's lead capture, with a new Lead Form Builder. The main Barn2 docs page for lead capturing now includes a section on how to super charge the functionality with Power Pack. I'm looking forward to a mention in a future newsletter as it will help raise awareness with their existing customers. The joy, and curse, of being self employed - it was a bank holiday today but work as usual. Final prep for the new client v1.0 site launch over the weekend, testing contact forms (and improving my Fill In The Blanks browser extension). Outside of work, the guinea pig poo game is coming along. Hopefully will get that online shortly so you can all share in the fun - a high score board is currently being prepped!

When you build a product, it should solve a real problem. For @ConversionWP, that problem is making analytics, ads, and conversion tracking actually easy to set up. Seeing feedback like this means it’s doing exactly what it was built to do and I couldn't be more proud today 🙌

Started making a guinea pig collect a poo game kind of like the anti-pac man. You need to run around and drop a 100 of them without being caught. When you do its a 5 second penalty and you return to the middle. Easy / Med / Hard modes so far. Hopefully tomorrow it will allow a face picker between Scruffy and Yoshi.

I can't focus 100% on a single startup. It's been a few months working on TrustMRR, and I feel a strong urge to try other things. 0 → 1 makes me more excited than 1 → 100
Yasser@yasser_elsaid_

@marclou Do you think you will continue working on multiple products at the same time or go all in on TrustMRR? and why? I think TrustMRR can be huge.

Its a photo finish, seeing as its past 7:30pm, but ClickTock V2.4 has also been released. Its browser extension has also been submitted to the Chrome Web Store. Q1 is a wrap for active development. Q2 is going to be marketing, building partnerships, and most likely bug fixing. friendlywebguy.co.uk/track-your-tim…
