Recently, it’s become very clear that our community is being threatened by bad actors who are violating multiple Shopify policies without being punished. Shopify likely doesn’t have a system in place (or it isn’t working as it should yet) and shady apps exploit that. Time to do something about it. Here's my idea: - I invite credible app developers to join a private Discord server (strictly invite-only, only verified identities, 100% trusted). - We share evidence about bad actors in our categories, server is well structured and easy to navigate, all violations are timestamped, tracked and updated. Sooner or later, Shopify will act (I honestly believe they care about this) and then we will share all of the well documented evidence with them. Who’s in?

#ShopifyDiary 373: Since getting Built for Shopify on 9th May, we've seen a boost in our installs and App Store category rankings 📈 I have now asked our lead developer for the app to remove the free plan so that we can start fully monetizing it (finally!).

@KatieKeithBarn2 We have a free tier that allows you to use the basic feature set for up to 75 members. The assumption is that any real store is going to exceed that.

@ianmisner Ah, I thought you said it didn't have a free option. We're going to keep our free option for dev stores, it's just that any real stores will have to pay from now on.

@KatieKeithBarn2 Here's where we're at but our free tier is still the majority of users. We intend for that to stay pretty generous indefinitely, though.

I don't suppose there will ever be a way to know, but we have just over 1,000 users and 10 5* reviews, which we may not have if we were paid immediately. I do need to consider the best approach for our B2B plugin, though - especially given that you've told me you started getting reviews just as quickly as our free plugin and you didn't have a free version.

Turns out Shopify reviews that show up as archived sometimes come through as real reviews once the users go live with their store. Starting to see an increase in review pace now that those customers (who we made happy quickly!) are actually going live. 🎉
