This is all a coincidence I'm sure but Texas has yet to release data post abortion ban (our abortion ban came into effect in 2021 before Roe v Wade) (but data shows from 2019 to 2020 increases in deaths across the board) The committee in charge of the data is the Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity committee. Not only did they delay sharing 2019 data till after their midterms (bc surprise surprise it was bad) But they expanded the committee adding in a very strict anti abortion activist, released our community advocate and opted out of the CDC's Maternal Mortality review information app. They don't want to share wthe data. Another important thing to note is they apparently DO NOT include abortions in their data. Opting out of the CDC guidelines to calculate the data/rates effectively means they can add information or more importantly I think exclude information. Shady or not shady? I guess we will find out. Seems weird they would do all this before they release information post abortion ban. Another study that we do have up to date data on is unfortunately infant mortality. And the significant increase on it post SB8 in Texas. Here is the data I could find from CDC and the Commonwealth Fund. Texas ranks 50 out 50 states on healthcare for women in America 🤣 (we are #1 for being the WORST YAY) And a 34.7 Mortality rate (2020-2022) Studies/aritcles linked under post.
