So it isn't like he told Cincy I am coming 30 seconds before the team left. He could have told the team before they left San Diego

@BullSheetAlumni @abrazomack Jerrod Calhoun had 0 NCAA appearances before joining USU. He also had won 0 conference tournaments before joining USU.

Since 2015-16 he is 0.556 in the MVC. He has also only had one tournament appearance (this year) since 15/16. Average finish in the MVC over the past 10 years is 4.3 Has had one year with a top 100 offense and 3 with a top 100 defense (nothing under 90) Only has 1 pro as well.

@ScottyGZone I could argue the luck was going to run out as soon as USU went away from a formula that worked for four straight coaching hires. Jacobson is also near .500 since 2020. Moving away from a formula that actually worked is an interesting move.

Initial Thoughts: - The Aggies didn’t need to roll the dice on a young, mostly unproven coach. They had four times in a row. Sooner or later the luck was going to run out. This shows you where the program is right now. This is a guy who has won titles, been to the Sweet 16, and was in the tourney just this past year. - Northern Iowa was going to (and may still yet) build a statue of Ben Jacobson. They loooove him there. For him to leave shows where USU has elevated itself. - According to his contract (via @KcSmurthwaite) $0 buyout. A good portion of the Calhoun money now can be used for player retention and acquisition. - No offense to Joe Shmuckatelli from Mendon, but look at what the national media is saying about this hire. Home run after home run. Big time get for the Ags.
