@trussliz These deals do mark a new era for Britain as an idiotic, self-harming trading nation and they wouldn’t have been necessary either if we were still in the EU, where we’d also have had a much better chance of standing up to authoritarians than we do now pissing around on our own.

@DGWilkinson That's headline grabbing and a compliant media will suck it up. Who will investigate deeply which businesses in the food chain are making big money and which is being screwed. If prices are capped, watch retailers go to producers and "ask" for "help", i.e. take lower prices!

@DGWilkinson You couldn’t make this up! Price cap. So Supermarkets will reduce producer payments. Producers pull out / reduce output. Empty shelves. More imports. It’s basically what the egg industry has been going through in the last 18 months, and the government has now put a cherry on top!
