Giving @plannotator a spin this evening as I'm feeling particularly overwhelmed by the volume of some generated changes. This traditional review format seems really promising compared to going back and forth between lazygit and my editor to check diffs. Excellent!

All these different AI harnesses that rely on you working with API keys instead of subscriptions are such a non-starter for me. Easy way to set money on fire.

Introducing Code Review, a new feature for Claude Code. When a PR opens, Claude dispatches a team of agents to hunt for bugs.

@aarondfrancis Worktrees should be a bit more lightweight. They're easier to reason about with Worktrunk (otherwise I might not bother), though what that tool does is starting to be integrated into the AI CLIs now 🤷‍♂️

Why do people like git worktrees over discrete checkouts? (This isn't bait, it's research)

@MarioVerbelen "Just let AI generate something and the senior will review it" -- that's not how it works at all. For now, you're still responsible for reading and refining AI output before putting changes up for review.

This is one of my reasons why I stay a manual dev. AI is nice and good for many things, but I don't let it do my passion. But when I see co-workers using it on our codebase, I feel like I'm reviewing LLM's for them and my whole mind explodes when I read the clutter that doesn't make any sense. This mindset of just let AI generate something and the senior will review it. I just can't approve and put my stamp on it. I just can't. For now it's very limited but it's starting to become the new reality and it's spreading fast. So I start to feel useless as well, I still have hope for the next year but then ... I don't know. Back to the farm?

It's so hard to relax and play a game or something when you're mentally committed to building something, and just generally progressing, outside of your 9-5.

Actually kind of insane how much /simplify catches in Claude. Like, we just made this thing--shouldn't we have proactively done cleanup? Feels a little clunky TBH.

@thdxr Why not consider how to restructure it and then direct the AI do it in that way? Seems faster.

i think i still get the good feelings from programming even when using AI because i'm constantly refactoring i'll have it do a first pass and i'll look at it and think of a way to reduce it to less code that is more beautiful both fun and effective

While I have an open mind, I feel skeptical of all these new products coming out that 'turn your idea into an app' in just a short prompt. Everything non-trivial I have ever built has been the sum of thousands of small decisions. I guess it's worth an experiment at least!
