$META is working on a standalone prediction markets app internally called “Arena,” per NYT. Zuckerberg reportedly directed a small team to build the app after the rise of Polymarket and Kalshi. Users would likely predict outcomes with game-like points instead of money at launch, though Meta has not ruled out real-money betting later. NYT says Meta aims to grow Arena by leveraging its Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger audiences. NYT says the effort is experimental and may not be released.

Pyth Network Suffers Hermes and Core Feed Downtime Pyth Network reported an outage affecting Pythnet/Hermes, disrupting its core price feeds and sponsored feeds for over four hours. The team said validators are coordinating a restart after identifying the root cause of the issue. The incident may affect DeFi protocols relying on Pyth oracle data for trading, lending, and liquidation operations.

Looks pretty cool but is the goal to provide a better trading infra for the already collateralized CTF positions (bridge to sol maybe) or to create a new HFT friendly predictions market? I think Poly has done an excellent job with liquidity and markets but their exchange is not fully DeFi compatible (no 1271 support for protocols) and as such, atomic hedging/fully on-chain MM vaults are not possible atm.

@fullportnik I remember when in 2014 they used to put skins on csgolounge for matches. And it was difficult to find the esports category on betting sites, sometimes they didn’t even have one. Now it is one of the fastest growing and most promising categories
