@FlipsideVinyl The cleaned up version of Pretty In Pink is cool. I like both versions

@filthythanks @RichardS7370 Interesting cover with the song titles listed. They had pretty much quit doing this since the mid-60s. Maybe a throwback/nod to those early 60s folk records?

Tickets are on sale now at eventim.us/STARMAN26 for my return with Luke Spiller to The Sun Rose for two nights of magic on April 10 and 11 with a powerhouse band featuring Shay Godwin on drums, Nando Raio on bass, and Dave Wood on guitar. As always, you never know who else might join us on stage!

#5DebutAlbums8589 #NowPlaying World Party | Private Revolution While this isn't *quite* as good as Goodbye Jumbo, failing to clear such a lofty bar is no insult. On as beautiful a day as this, Karl Wallinger's first solo beauty is looking like a shoo-in for my 5.

#5debutalbums8589 is going to be very interesting, because I don't think I have any locked in at first glance. Some here I've not listened to for years either, so the next few weeks will be a lot of fun!

@SalSpice It’s unreal in DC too. You have to ask to get any locals (pro or college) on the bar TVs other than Commaders.

at a sports bar in saint paul. the tvs are broadcasting the wild, women's gymnastics, women's college basketball, combine coverage on nfl network and AHL hockey (wolf pack vs. phantoms). not a single tv with minnesota timberwolves basketball.

Henry Diltz says: Here’s a random shot! We were shooting Judee Sill’s album cover in Topanga Canyon... not sure whose hand that is, probably my graphic artist partner Gary Burden. Not sure what he’s offering her either!

@FlipsideVinyl You’re on a roll tonight! New Moon is a good song. This album was disappointing to me but crazy popular. A foreshadowing of a band at loose ends that led to Arcadia and The Power Station projects. Some good songs came after this too.

@FlipsideVinyl My first Zep album. Underrated although I know some don’t like it. I remember Fool In The Rain ringing through my freshmen dorm. A preview of the Honeydrippers EP to come. Used to freak out people who had the record by using a little water to release the sleeve colors!

I, like so many people I respect and love, was laid off today. What an incredible honor it was to spend 12 years there. I am so grateful for everyone who read and encouraged and lived seasons with us. I am so sad the Post sports family won’t be there to live it with you again.

@eli_enis @BarredinDC Me? Happy to pay. How much did I pay to subscribe to RS over the years? And now I get to comment? Priceless. Surprised they didn’t do it earlier. @pitchfork

Exactly. You either pay to read professional writers (as was required throughout the 20th century) or there will be no more professional writing, and all the text you see online will be marketing materials, AI drivel, and/or random people's opinions.
Steven Hyden@Steven_Hyden

Seeing a lot of complaining about Pitchfork putting up a paywall and I totally get it, the number of subscriptions people are asked to pay now is ridiculous. But I don't think people realize that all the stuff you used to read for free is about to go extinct forever w/o subs.

@andypollin1 Don’t forget Gov. Jesse Ventura. Tafoya was also a host on WCCO radio which has huge reach beyond the Twin Cities. She’s knows Minnesota but whether she can read the room remains to be seen. The purple campaign logo is an interesting touch.

@PatThomas1964 Joe’s Garage was my intro to Zappa. So funny! Dig Zen Arcade and the Utopia record too. White City by Pete? Saw Utopia in early 80s. Todd at the height of his powers and killer set mix — complete with girls bringing him flowers. Do they still do that?

Bill Kopp is examining 30 rock concept albums (not necessarily rock operas) -amongst my personal favorites here are Jethro Tull, Pete Townshend (not The Who’s Tommy), believe it or not: Husker Du fits into this category. Bill interviewed several of the musicians as well.
