In 2019, during the presidential election, there was a polling unit in my hostel at school. Some of my course mates voted for Buhari because they were paid ₦2,500. APC won that election. A year later, we were stepped down from 400 level to 200 level because, according to the NUC, the school had admitted us into a department that was not accredited. The following year after the step-down, ASUU embarked on an eight-month strike. In a working system, none of this would have happened. Everything occurred under the same man they collected ₦2,500 to vote for. A five-year course turned into eight years. You can only support a bad government if Nigeria has not happened to you. We deserve better.
