@Ugochukwu96_ Some jobs are temporary & then if made permanent HR make managers advertise externally, but the person temping 9.99% of the time gets the job. I feel sorry for people coming to interviews - wasting their time.

Dear HRs, Stop holding interviews when you have already decided who is getting the job. Some of the unemployed borrow money for transport! Thank you.

@james_xond Your car insurance before around 1998 used to go down each year with no claims - it just goes up now & you’re forced to shop around.

Should car insurance give money back at the end of the year if you haven’t had any accidents??

My biggest disappointment at work was realizing that it's not enough to do your job well, to love what you do, to want to be there. If you don't fit in, if you're not well-liked, or if you don't align with the ego of your leader, you'll lose out. Even if you're competent, even if you give your best effort, even if you have a sense of belonging, even if you fulfill all your obligations, it won't be enough.

Serious question: Do people actually exist who genuinely enjoy staying home all day, completely alone, without seeing anyone?

What are people doing to their bodies that so many people need knee replacement surgery in their 50’s? If you were a professional skier, or in professional sports, I can understand. But I must know a dozen people who have gotten one or need one in the last year. Has it always been like this?

@JuliaCoombs8 @MartinSLewis 2/2 & if your partner/ husband decides he wants a younger version you are stuffed. A friends husband at 60 ran off with a woman half his age she’s had to downsize & can’t retire.

@MartinSLewis That the government can change your retirement age, with no consultation whatsoever. Women are seen as second class citizens. You have to provide for yourself despite unfair odds, as Waspi women did. Not even receiving equal pay for same job and some barred from pension schemes.

@JuliaCoombs8 @MartinSLewis 1/2 So true - women are supposed to be seen as equals but the majority earn less then men, still are the main carers for children & elderly parents - but have same retirement age as men for state pension women have been scammed in the name of equality

@BBCNewsnight The other problem is the increase in state pension age, people are having to work longer & jobs aren’t being freed up for the younger generation.

@ejames500 @wesstreeting Know some who’s just had surgery privately- had massive side effects - guess where they ended up in a NHS hospital under NHS care sorting it out. People don’t realise that the private sector don’t pick up any after surgery issues.

Report in @thetimes today about Britain having the lowest level of foreign investment of the G7 countries. No wonder. Imagine a potential investor getting off at Heathrow and being confronted with this squalid sight on the M25. Another example of the failing British state.

I was in Tescos earlier and they were putting Easter Eggs out. Its just awful, we're not even allowed to get through Christmas anymore. The greed of these chains is so offensive & grubby. This never used to happen, Easter Eggs would come out just before Easter, not during Xmas!

@_becca92 Yes I really don’t like New Year, whatever I’ve done I’ve never enjoyed myself, for last few years have stayed home where I’m content. It’s such a fake jollity - although I do like New Years Day - it feels calm with a flicker of hope for me.

@AliArthPainter I attended an EDI meeting at work. They said that employees in the organisation who fall into this category have complained of bullying- employers need to be made accountable for allowing this behaviour- as an employee with a disability I can attest to this. We can’t win

Dear HR, Listen to me. 1. If I spend 2 hours searching for a job vacancy, 2. I apply after spending 15-30 minutes, 3. I wait patiently for 2-4 days to get a call, 4. After scheduling a call, I prepare for the interview for 3-6 days, 5. I give a 1-2 hour interview, 6. Then, can you at least take 10 minutes, the precious 10 minutes of your life, and tell me whether I was rejected or whether you put the hiring on hold, and if I was rejected, why? How difficult is this job? Please, stop ghosting candidates!
