@boxcardavid @liminalsunset_ On the topic of strange rotors, I came across a fully overmoulded 9s6p rotor. Still unsure how they constrain the magnets in the injection mould tool without them sticking to the tool itself (no adhesive under the magnets after a ‘strip down’)

Why has X interface changed on me suddenly? Now the menu bar is tiny and attaches tot he far left of the page. When I click more, I just get a bunch of stupid icons. I am sick of this shit. My other account is fine, this one is suddenly broken. What is it now!!!!!!

@LaboElectronico @Noctua_at I used the pusher method also back then, but from above, against the convection. But my Desk stood in front of the radiator, so instead heating the room, warm air heats my legs under the desk, almost immediate warmth after turning on :)

@Noctua_at Been there, done that. It really works! But make it a pusher, not a puller. It works better, and doesn't get hot

Did you know that you can boost your home's heating efficiency with active radiator ventilation? Adding fans to your radiators can significantly reduce energy consumption, especially when using heat pumps, benefiting both your wallet and the environment: noctua.at/en/active-radi…

@lindsaywilson88 @CR4163R @IanJohnBuckley Thanks! Yeah it's an interesting set of tradeoffs! Galinstan is more conductive, denser, non-toxic. But Mercury won't eat your spacecraft, and has a lower freezing point (so less power wasted on heating the metal)

The big magnetohydrodynamic reaction wheel seems to work well. Think that'll be good enough for a video, was a fun little build! Some _very_ rough calculations from an overhead view works out to 6.2 mNm of torque and 1.2 mNms of angular momentum.

@MacroWorld21 that's exactly the reason why I never bothered learning the codes and switched completely to SMD at the age of 15 SMD >> THT in terms of readability ^^

@seanfrank 33 here, same though. Literally nothing feels different now vs the days I was in highschool. Didn't get taller/wider. Same sleep schedule. "Everything hurts in your 30s" - Nothing here. No soreness. Still waiting to experience all the "life sucks after 28" nonsense xD

@RueNahcMohr What do you mean by 'allow the capacitor to saturate'? You're talking about dissipation/soakage? Or the capacitor reaching a certain voltage?

A test of the pulse stretching circuit: The multiplier is ABOUT 4.7, but this test is messed up with my high capacitance x1 breadboard probe. Its important that the maximum pulse being multiplied does not allow the capacitor to saturate.

@RueNahcMohr @shadowbanenub interesting, last time I had to work with shitty servos (try to avoid them whenever possible), there wasn't anything spec like, not even proper DS. so I was left with staring the exact center point period length for all of them in flash and having to recalibrate every new servo

@shadowbanenub @fxk8y The pulses should be about 50Hz or you will throw off the gain of the mechanism. The pulses are supposed to be 1ms-2ms, but I have seen 0.5ms to 2.5ms. Everyone agrees 1.5ms should be center. :]

ARG, the stupid analog remote now (apparently) outputs pulses from 1.5ms - 3ms instead of 1-2ms. I suppose this is why fully digital remotes came along. Yes the timing changes with battery level }:/

@ghaginn how do you now the sona's owner doesn't need them too? also there are people like me, how can't read the presentation from the second row on but still have to pay for glasses cuz I have no vision disorder according to law my glasses are "privatvergnügen" as we germans call it

Seeing fursuits w/ prop glasses is kind of a weird thing to me cuz.. glasses are like a medical thing arent they? Just seems a bit offensive towards those who actually need to wear em to, yknow, see? Kinda like using a wheelchair when u dont actually need it.. idk just a thought

@boxcardavid nope; my brother owns one which self-balances after turning on, waiting for the user to step onto it's a really nice feature but I also recognize it's not implemented in all of them can even be triggered via 433MHz china relabled keyfob :D

@AshSerigala @guhnebulous don't know about the others but sony does some amazing stuff, like having you realtime preview on display while simultaneously doing UVC over USB with realtime overlays like focus peaking and such. you want better ui? just use their app, almost latency free preview incl. (wifi)

@guhnebulous Not to mention you rarely access the UI and when you do its nicer to have text only menus, straight to the point. Most dont even read it, by time you use it frequently you just know you click menu and hit left 5 times down 2 times etc. Its a camera afterall, not a menu simulator!

Dyson knockoff turbine motor fans are dirt cheap on Aliexpress and going into fun stuff like these handheld fans that move a lot of air. 200 watts 200 grams CNC impeller $5, crazy.
